evacuation orders have been issued in some parts of san joaquin county. now of course, we wouldn't call today's conditions wildfire weather. and spencer, usually we would expect hotter, maybe windier conditions to fuel that fire. >> that's true. diane. typically, we would expect extreme heat, very, very dangerously low humidity and powerful wind gusts, which is what we get during the wildfire season when these kinds of fires develop. now, the conditions are anything but that right now. so the current conditions near near tracy, in and around tracy are favorable for containing the fire. the thing is, when you get closer to the fire, these massive fires can generate their own powerful gusts at the base of the fire. okay, so the basic conditions right now in and around tracy, 67 degrees. so it's not hot. obviously relative humidity is increasing to 44. earlier it was a little bit lower and the wind gusts with steady winds about 19mph. the gusts have been up to about 30mph again in and around tracy, but closer to the fire the fires can generate. these uh- win

now. >> well, here in san joaquin county, the corral fire has burned more than 14,000 acres. crews are making good progress on containing it. they want to try to get this fire to full containment as soon as possible. on monday, more than 400 firefighters mostly from cal fire continue to work on containing the corral fire. the active fire is mostly under control, but with windy conditions, persisting fire crews are still trying to eliminate any trouble spots. firefighters made incredible progress overnight and they just continued to strengthen the control lines. >> you know, put out the hot spots to make sure that there are no areas that are still smoking. this blaze started on saturday afternoon in the grassy foothill southwest of tracy. >> pushed by 20 to 30 mile per hour winds and 60 miles per hour gusts. the fire spread rapidly around. 200 homes were evacuated on saturday as the flames spread. >> one house was destroyed and 2 firefighters were injured. both are expected to be okay on sunday, higher humidity and lower temperatures allowed fire crews to get the upper hand on
