i also want to welcome joaquin torres, and in charge of mta, and our hr director.the couple we have joining us here today, jeannie and pauly were denied the ability to get their marriage license after we were told by the court we had to stop in san francisco. we went from the 1960 summer of love to the 2000 winter of love. now as we celebrate pride this year, the theme for pride is beacon of love. [cheers and applause] and susan ford, the executive director for pride is here getting married again today. what is the common thread? with all of those things? what is the common thread that has led us here today? it centers around love. it centers around bringing people together in the spirit of love and recognizing that that is the uniter. love can bring us together and it's not just the song. it really is true. so when we think about the challenges that this community still faces, what i am most proud of is what san francisco continues to do to lead the way. people may want to talk about us and write us off but we know what we stand for. we tell them all the time, wri

our assembly member, phil ting, district attorney brooke jenkins , assessor recorder joaquin torres, sheriff paul miyamoto, treasurer jose cisneros, catherine stefani, supervisor. thank you. rafael and thank you, supervisor. um, director of department of public health. doctor grant colfax is here. sfo director ivor sotero is here. director sarah dennis phillips. thank you. and san francisco police bill scott is here as well. so give them a big hand. these are very tough jobs. i also want to thank you. and this is something that's close to my heart. thank you for those who have supported unite sf. unite sf is one of the initiatives in the chamber that is a workforce development piece, and this program is a collaborative effort with the san francisco employers and the business community. and our educators, academia, the purpose is to really train our youth here in san francisco and give them opportunities, skill sets to compete for living wage jobs in san francisco. the chamber of commerce feels strongly that supporting our young san franciscans is a key, key piece to our future in the

there were congregate meals that happened so working with the city assessor, joaquin torres and annie chung for the elderly and get a restaurant who would provide hot meals three days that week and we went and served everyone, and it all worked out, so we were happy to see that. i think it was an opportunity for us to put a shot light on older adults and people with disabilities to remind them we are here. we are part of this community and we can't you know be ignored, so that was good. yesterday das was host to 28 members of the korean delegation who came to hear all about our programs, and thanks to our team who provided a lot of information and answered questions they were particularly interested in ihss and how we run it but it's a great opportunity again for us to talk about how we are providing services for those most in need. also i want to mention that since you of gone the san francisco police chief scott acknowledged that several members for all the work they did done for veterans in the police force so that wonderful acknowledgment for them and for us, and you all might hav
