nbc bay area's jocelyn moran is here with what are the signs that we need to watch out for jocelyn? yes, it's important to be aware of this. you want to think twice before clicking on that link or giving your credit card information ou. scammers are going as far as posing as law enforcement and utility workers, and that has agencies sounding the alarm. all kinds of scams are on the rise in the bay area this holiday season. through text, phone call or even someone knocking on your front door. the customers are telling us that people are coming to their front doors, knocking on their doors, letting them know that their east bay mud or water district water agency employees, and that they're there to test their taps. east bay mud says in the last few days, it's gotten 30 to 40 calls from customers about that happening primarily in richmond and oaklaland. the problem is those people are not actually east bay mud employees. the agency says workers will never ask to enter your home, and if they do, it's for a scheduled visit. we do see this around the holidays, and people should be careful
