in that case, let's bring in our jodi hernandez. jodi, you've been looking into these robberies for us today, and i understand you have new surveillance video. we do. the u.s. postal service gave us two surveillance videos of recent robberies in the hopes that someone might recognize the suspects. we're going to show you that video right now. now, that latest robbery took place two weeks ago on lawton street in antioch. as a letter carrier was about to deliver mail to a community mailbox. on the evening of november 29th, a woman took out a gun, pointed it at the letter carrier, and demanded the master key. the mail man complied, putting the key on the ground and slowly backing away. just a few days before that incident, another letter carrier on his mail route in vallejo was approached by a man who also pulled a gun on him and demanded the mail man's master key. the postal service is offering a $150,000 reward in both of these cases for information leading to the arrest of these two suspects. all right, jodi, a very scary situation

jodi hernandez nbc, bay area news. oakland is wrapping up its safest year since the start of the pandemic, according to city leaders. they're crediting their violence prevention ceasefire program for the dramatic reduction in crime. was just one day left until the new year. oakland is set to end with fewer than 100 homicides for the first time in many years. police data shows a 35% decrease in murders and a 33% decrease in non-fatal shootings from 2023. the city credits its ceasefire program, which works with community and faith leaders, to identify high risk individuals to reduce gun violence. we know that even one shooting leads to immense trauma for families. widespread hurt in our communities, and fear in our communities. and i acknowledge that one life lost is too many. but the progress we've made has been remarkable, and we will do everything in our power to keep reducing gun violence next year and for generations to come. the city revived its ceasefire program this year under former mayor sheng thao to continue

in antioch, jodi hernandez nbc, bay area news. another headline tonight we're getting new details on the family of four found dead inside of their apartment in milpitas. late today, police reveal the identities of this family. officers found the bodies of vin nguyen and betty pham in their apartment at the turing apartments on tuesday, along with the bodies of their nine year old son and four year old daughter. police do not have an exact cause of death, but say each family member had been shot. officers are investigating this as a murder suicide. this tragedy is a very difficult reminder of the importance of addressing domestic violence and gun violence. the loss of their lives was preventable. and for anyone experiencing distress, whether that's domestic violence, gun violence or mental health concerns, help is available. milpitas police believe milpitas police believe the family died on saturday night, but are still waiting for specific details on an exact cause of death and timeline from the coroner and d medical examiner. aft

and you know, jody powell and hamilton jordan and carter himself regarded this article as a stab in theback, a betrayal from one time insider. but it's a colorful story. and you, james fallows, made some some good points about some of the failings of carter presidency. is is is problems with giving a speech in front of a tv camera. but as you know it was in my view, was an unfair attack. you will you have that point that you make about it's remarkable. and this is just interesting as as as a kind of study of of rhetoric and writing and how people what people remember. but the story that follows tells there is the story about carter scheduling the white house tennis courts, which you point out is not true. but it gets reported and that becomes the emblem the emblematic story that people will go on to tell even to this day about carter as a micro manager and not seeing the forest for the trees and and having to have his hand in everything. it's but that story wasn't true was it? no, it was a result of a misunderstood ending on the part of fallows, who was an avid tennis player and preside
