[ yelling ] >> this is surveillance video of the robbery. it took place on march 8th. the men entered the sunny's quick stop on locust street and demand cash. the clerk is shot but the injuries are not life-threatening. police are hoping anyone with information after seeing this video will contact them. >>> more than 30 people in sunnyvale scrambling tonight to find a place to stay after fire forced them out of their apartments. police and firefighters rescued several people from these apartment balconies. witnesses said they couldn't get to fire escapes. the smoke in the hallways was just too thick. at least one person did suffer serious burns. another person is being treated for smoke inhalation. both expected luckily to survive. the fire started in a kitchen, they say. but fire investigators, they have not pinpointed a cause. >>> and an amazing sto

in oakland, i'm jodi hernandez, nbc bay area news. >> jodi, thank you. >>> new at 6:00, a disturbing arrest in the east bay. brentwood police say a 19-year-old man sexually assaulted a child inside of a bathroom at a church. it happened on saturday at the world of life christian fellowship church. both the suspect identified as 19-year-old lidell smith and the victim were members of that church. smith has ties to richmond, san francisco and oakland. police believe there could be more victims. >>> an accused murderer is back in the south bay after hiegd out for almost three years in mexico. julio pliego was arraign for the brutal killing of his girlfriend in 2013. police say he stabbed her 40 times and then shot her in the head. then they say he texted her current boyfriend a photo of the body and fled to mexico. >> this is considered a special circumstance murder, which elevates the potential sentence. it could be death or life without the possibility of parole. in this case we're seeking life without the possibility of parole. >> authorities extradited pliego this week after the fbi

. >> i'm jody hernandez, nbc bay area news. >>> the list is growing.police say there are more victims molested by that dental assistant in concord, a total of three girls under the age of 10 have now come forward. investigators believe they found video evidence of the molestations. the case began saturday when an 8-year-old told police that alejandro rosario molested her. in a raid, detectives found videos allegedly showing the 24-year-old molesting many young patients while they were sedated for dental procedures. investigators believe tonight there could be more than 50 victims. >> that's not including the potential that there may be victims at some of the other places, where he worked. or even the cases where maybe he committed these acts where they weren't videotaped. >> he also worked at concord patino orthodontics western dental and antioch's western dental. he will be arraigned next wednesday. >>> beating case by sheriff's deputies may have muddied the legal waters for himself, according to our legal analysts. new indictment against petrov today
