nbc bay area's jodi hernandez got an up-close look. >> reporter: an unbelievable scene in berkeley. a massive mudslide has taken place out here. a berkeley couple woke up this morning to this. their hillside sliding down. it all started above there. the hillside gave way, taking out a shed, some stairs, and then making its way down the hill. you can see the little patio area is destroyed. but the worst part of this is it actually made its way into the house. you can see here that it came crashing through the wall. the homeowner says he woke up at about 6:30 this morning to make coffee. he was in this room making coffee when he looked outside and saw all the mud. that mud has continued to slide and shift this morning. now it's inside the house. several other houses are also at risk. several houses down below have been evacuated because this mud is at risk of moving down the hill, and it is a danger. of course this house has also been evacuated.hief tells us th has never seen anything like this in berkeley before, and the ground is very wet, very saturated, and there is a chance we ma
