joe: apple.ad money, but they do not want to repatriate that money. >> exactly, we are talking about the cost of capital and by lowering interest rates, the cost of capital if you're going to use corporate debt, that is far cheaper than equity. we have to pay dividends. what a lot of companies are doing is, i'm going to borrow money and buy their own stock back. joe: so if this explosion of debt was due to the extraordinary federal reserve stimulus and what we have seen with 3rd avenue essentially a natural part of the withdrawal of liquidity? >> i think that what we are noticing is that the market has gotten larger, but something we are not paying attention to is the funds have also exploded. so what you're getting right now then environment where consumer of liquidity might be bigger than the actual market. asdealers collectively serve a group that is now dwarfing them in size. any the best analogy i can make find ayou want to go and taxi yourself, go. but if you have a family with you it will

joe: thank you very much.ll look at how the drop in gas prices is weighing on sales. ♪ alix: posco said to release earnings later this evening, and it is the focus of the numbers don't lie this week. the strong dollar and falling gasoline prices, that has hurt costco sales. they are basically in negative territory. you strip out fuel, ande are of over 5%. the other issue you need to look at is where can this company grow. it is a brick and mortar business through and through. blue, and it dominates the west coast, but has room to make up ground in the northeast and the midwest. the issue is that in order to do that, costco needs to spend money. that open new stores. that is its life's blood going forward. that will increase its capital expenditures. its estimated it will double in 2015 compared to 2010, 2 $.4 billion by the in of the year. what can cosco do in terms of the products it sells? is on thee label rise, representing 20% of total items sold, 25% of global sales, helps margins and other areas. at the

joe: do you find that, too?teven: i would point to the fact that these indicators are beginning to rise, suggesting that the forces are more concentrated than they used to be, very narrow. and it is a good leading indicator. in fact, it is a better future core what inflation is going to do. a lot of this stuff has nothing to do with the markets. there is health care issues, other issues, nonmarket pressures that are beginning to emerge. to combine the labor market and these other factors. it is still only 25 or 50 basis points. scarlet: ok, only. and andrew 11,r you will both be with us. and earnings-per-share rising 2.14 last year, better than what the street was looking for. they were looking for$2.50 for fedex. we consensus among analysts survey was for 12.4 billion dollars, and the fastest-growing of its fedex, in part purchases, the ground business, and volume there grew 9%, average daily volume, growing 9%, so no longer double-digit healthyut still very growth for their ground business, and they are reaffi

joe: what is a robot?hese videos and it looks like a machine, but it does not -- how are you defining robot for our purposes and what is the then diagram between robotics and artificial intelligence? >> it is a virtual or electronic agent which is providing labor, mobility, safety, or convenience. think of the stereotypical image you have in your mind, that is what most robots are. increasingly, they are being indicted with the level of machine learning, deep learning, and signs of artificial intelligence. this whole concept of intelligent machines is becoming a reality. alix: i feel like a lot of the conversation about robots is them over taking jobs and we will see the employment rates spike, sucking out jobs in the industrial services and there will be all these people unemployed. do you see that happening when you forecasted your model? longer-term, that will be a risk or do we have to be cognizant of the time horizon, 1-3 years there is massive room. only 66 industrial robots per 10,000 employees. sec

joe: thank you.lix: coming up, the charts everyone in the oil industry will be watching into 2016. ♪ alix: what did you miss? oil. it was the biggest story in 2016. and the focus of the numbers don't lie. here are the charts every investor should be looking at. the number one chart is inventory. this is the total oil industry stock that developed economies. around 3 billion barrels. bank of america forecast that over 3 million barrels to level off and then declined slightly. the issue is storage everywhere else except the u.s. is pretty full. the u.s. is 65% full. we have more wiggle room. will production fall fast enough so we don't hit peak storage? supply. the idea is we want supplied to come off before we hit peak storage number. the metric to watch is non-opec production. right around 58 million barrels of oil a day, this is what needs to rollover. things were only going to see a decline in non-opec by 200,000 barrels a day led by the u.s.. countries like mexico and brazil sank money into projec
