we are joined by joe cannon, he's a former all-star goalie with the earthquakes with, good morning. > good morning. >> reporter: you played with chris, wando, right, and he's representing for us in team usa. somehow it? you played with it him. somehow it watching him? >> it's almost surreal. i don't to want rehash it for the sake of tv, but his story is amazing. he came to the earthquakes in a trade, a like for like trade. i think we sent kelly grey to houston at the time, we got chris, or cam weaver, and we were thinking okay, both forwards, we're kind of struggling, next thing you know, the season started, chris started scoring, and now he's playing in the world cup. >> reporter: how is it when you're watching him on screen, like that's my buddy, i played with him. >> for me, i think he represents just a person that's really, just worked to get where he is at. i mean i have a few friends that have done that, jimmy conrad, but chris is a guy that kind of came from nowhere, and he's a great example, i use him all the time when i'm talking to little kids about how hard work really pays
