of joe scarborough and tom delay and newt gingrich, carl rove and whoosh. the people driving the debate in our party were from the deep south. now you have chris christie in new jersey. i don't think he's a moderate and i don't think he is a liberal. scott walker and wisconsin. scott is obviously conservative guy but paul ryan out of wisconsin. geographically we are starting to move north. i thought it was interesting you solve kelly ayotte in new hampshire being one of the few people that stood up during the government shut down saying enough is enough. you people are killing me up here. i was glad to see pat toomey take a couple of courageous stance as well on a couple of different issues. i think it's really good news the republican party has broken out of my reach and and is starting to influence elections in the northeast, the midwest and who knows maybe in the far west. here's the thing. if we want to be a national party again we are going to have to do that. in 2008, 2009, 2010 there wasn't a single republican representing anybody in new england. hop

we talk about sometimes in the economy and joe scarborough doesn't like it when we say good news is bad news because good news means maybe they got a taper, but this time good news was good news. >> yeah, it really was here. and what was surprising is not only did you get that promise of $10 billion being taken off the monthly purchasing starting in january, you also got a revision upwards in growth expectations from the federal reserve. so there is the promise of the bright sunny uplands. and the markets have been nervous because they thought that punch boufl easy money was going to get taken away and that would mean less money going into equities in the short term. but as it's turned out, they sold the rumor, they bought the fat, we've traded higher on equities in the u.s. and we're higher here in europe, as well, at the moment. so it seems that investors are willing to take this on board right now. >> well, let me ask you this because we talk about sometimes this inverse relationship between stocks and bonds. everyone assumes that mortgage rates will go up and all of that. did we see

morning joe that a risk on wisconsin republican congressman sean duffy told host and republican joe scarborough the republicans need to change their messaging so they can connect to people who are trying to. up the economic ladder. we have to actually take a message to where people are out we have moms that can pay the utility bill you can pay the mortgage so does our conservative ideology and philosophy actually help lift them out of the place through today and move them up the economic ladder we don't do a good job of presenting that message and we have to change how we're doing it this is the core of the problem that republicans face there is nothing in the republican party's platform that actually helps people move up the economic ladder while a good party platform only helps you when you're already rich so messaging doesn't mean a lot when your policies are designed to screw working americans and enrichment billionaires are part of the republican party's philosophy really just boils down to basic ideas tax cuts for the rich and social safety net cuts for everyone else neither of these idea

what's the equivalent for that for wolf blitzer or joe scarborough? it's a moment where you say i can't do this and i don't care what advice sane self help book that gets me over that hump. have you had moments like that? >> no. so this leads to and it's so much easier for men because looking at, you know, my mom or aunts or other women in my life that having worked and been juggling everything, it's just so hard because, you know, you go all in one way. and you feel like you're missing out. you go all out the other way you feel you're missing out. >> life is messy, isn't it. as campbell says life is messy. i think the point of cheryl's book is asking the question why aren't there more senior women in business, in politics. there's a shortage of senior women every where. what she's trying to do is start a conversation to ask questions, which are awkward. she says is this something innate in women that makes them feel anxious they can't do everything. campbell can you do the next presidential debate. maybe you shouldn't be trying to do the breast pump
