sam liccardo, current state assembly member evan low, and current santa clara county supervisor joe simitian, and we want to welcome live to the four this afternoon. >> supervisor simitian, thank you so much for being here. as we mentioned, you are a santa clara county supervisor. excuse me, a former state legislator. how do you plan to bring all of that experience to washington, d.c? >> well, i think it's a great question because it's an opportunity for me to be effective on day one. having served at the county level with 2 million folks in santa clara county, having served at the state level and carried significant legislation that really improved people's lives. i think things in washington right now are daunting. i think things in washington are even a little bit scary for some, and i think somebody who can step in and be effective on day one is what at the times call for. so i'm looking forward to that opportunity. see, i'm not at all naive about how great that challenge is, but i think i am particularly well suited. and the last thing i would say is i have represented 14 of the 15 citi
