joe vasquez is in san francisco with the testimony jurors asked to hear again. joe? >> reporter: dana, the jury spent sometime today listening to the testimony of a key witness, the only person who claims to have seen bonds get injected. the jury spent the morning listening as the clerk read back the testimony from barry bonds' former personal shopper kathy hoskins. remember, she testified she saw trainer greg anderson inject bonds with a syringe in his belly button. keep in mind, this charge doesn't necessarily have to do with steroids. in fact, hoskins testified she even know what was in the syringe just that she watched anderson inject him at bonds' husband house in 2002 as he was preparing to go on a road trip. why is this important? it stems from a key line of grand jury when bonds says nobody projected him. question from the prosecutor did greg ever give you anything that required a syringe to inject yourself? bonds bonds i have only had one person touch me and that's my personal doctor. >> so no one else other than your perhaps the team doctor has injected any

joe vasquez talked to a legal analyst about what that lack of verdict might indicate. >> reporter: three days of deliberating no verdict, what exactly does that mean? we are joined by paul anderson. it could mean anything. could be they are going over the evidence carefully. >> that means they are either going over the evidence or fighting amongst themselves. >> in some cases where there is a hung jury they will come out and say, judge, we can't get it together. we haven't heard that. >> sometimes that happens right away. other times it takes that long. the 12 people all hear things a little bit differently. they all see things a little bit different dimple. >>> it's early to talk about this but what about punishment if they come back with guilty? and they haven't come back with anything. >> here is the thing in this series of counts can carry up to ten years of custody, federal custody for the charges. we are down to four counts. so the potential is there for 40 years. but realistically, the federal guidelines at least from the prosecution, indicate that it is usually 12-15 months of cu
