kpix 5 joe vazquez is there. and joins us on the phon >>> back to the breaking situation now in the north bay. the san anselmo creek now above flood stage. kpix 5's joe vazquez is there right now for us and joins us on the phone with the very latest. joe, what's going on? >> reporter: hey, ken. right now it's raining. the rain is tapering off. that's a good sign. but there's still a flood warning in effect. a loud siren sounded here a short while ago. the san anselmo town manager tells me that they have just called for an evacuation of the downtown area. that's because nearby san anselmo creek is at 12 feet. flood stage is 13 feet. the town manager says this is a close call but we could dodge a bullet. but there's a lot of runoff and that runoff could go into the creek. back in 2005 they had 75 to 80 businesses and 300 homes flooded when the creek went over its banks. right now, in the tony little downtown, that you're familiar with a lot of little shops and homes by the creek, right now police are going around a

>>joe vazquez is live at the same . >> reporter: you see the medical examiner and a row of tents. that is where the two people were shot dead this evening. the call came in at 8:45 pm. officers came here and saw a man and woman laying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. the woman is still lying dead in the street. the medical examiners are still examining and the man was rushed to the hospital pronounced dead. there was an hour-long manhunt for the suspect. they have yellow tape several blocks around the area. the suspect got away. the trying to figure out what happened and who the gunman is. >>> the other big story, the bay area is hitting the chill. here is a live look oversan francisco, heading and then it is colder. people in alameda are bundled up, jackets, scarves, gloves. this is the third night in the row. temperatures will be in the 20s. overnight lows tonight will be down to 25 degrees, santa rosa, 26 in concord and fear looking for a warming trend there is one on the way. it will be the coldest night in the bay area. if you are thinking about using a fireplace to warm

kpix 5's joe vazquez continues our coverage. joe? >> reporter: talking about shelly mack. a former resident. she says the place was a dump and a deathtrap. and that the proprietor absolutely knew it. >> i would like to see the same thing happen to him that happened to these people. because he deserved to be in that fire. not them. because it was his fault. >> reporter: the proprietor derick ion knew the ghost ship warehouse was dangerous. she calls it a deathtrap. shirley lived there two years ago for four or five months. paid about $700 rent. as neat as the pictures look, the truth is the inside of the warehouse was a mess. >> there are all these cords and electrical cords and wires going across. if you're not careful, he will slip and fall and trip down the stairs. because you'll be falling all over electrical cords that are going to transformers and generators. gas generators in there. >> reporter: she did not realize the warehouse was an illegal residence until after she moved in. she says she was instructed to tell visitors it was a 24 hour for workspace. not a living

joe vazquez explains from san francisco. joe? >> reporter: liz, tough for uber. just as they were trying to explain that they didn't believe they needed a dmv permit to put a driverless car program on the streets of san francisco, one of their cars was caught on camera running a red light. >> we were on a busy surge street. >> reporter: jessica felix was driving a passenger in her cab south of market this morning and saw a volvo marked uber with the same contraption on top as a self-driving car. what happened next was caught on her dashcam. >> all the cars stopped at the red light. uber just kept going, very surprised to see a car continue on. >> reporter: you see the light change. the taxi stops. then a couple seconds later the uber goes right through the red light. a pedestrian was well into the crosswalk. >> it's just neglectful. >> reporter: the red light run happened in the middle of a dramatic day for uber. hours early the company announced it was beginning a pilot program to begin picking up passengers with driverless cars in san francisco and they decided

kpix 5's joe vazquez joins us now from the town of san anselmo. joe, what's going on? >> reporter: ken, we're talking about san anselmo creek and we are near flood stage. this is what it looks like in every little business here in downtown san anselmo. you can see a police car right here blocking access. that's because the town manager says they have called for evacuations. they are telling people to get out.
