firefighters were called to a house fire near highway 4 and joe vazquez shows what they found inside. >> reporter: inside the fire and bugle way, the contra costa fire district tweeted out photos of what they called an illegal marijuana grow house. rows and rows of plants took up most of the five bedroom house, right up to the bathroom sink. fire officials said there were marijuana plants in virtually every room of the house except the front room. it appears people have been sleeping in bunk beds. >> the entire second floor was filled with plants in various stages. i don't know the number of plans. dozens, hundreds. >> well over 50 and not more than a couple hundred. >> reporter: officials said whoever managed to grow house made it difficult to get inside. wooden beams blocked the doors and bars were on the windows and electrical wires were rigged to get extra electricity to the hydroponic system. >> it is not a legal that they were growing marijuana, they may have had the permits and the ability to grow the marijuana. they were illegally using power and had bypassed the electric mete

in pleasant hill, joe vazquez, kpix 5. >>> two men are in the hospital after another shooting on a bay area freeway. this one is different. this time, the shots rang out high up in wine country on highway 101 at healdsburg. that's where kpix 5's da lin is right now. da? >> reporter: yeah, very unusual for this area. now, southbound 101 here in healdsburg is back to business. traffic now moving on the southbound lanes. these lanes were actually shut down for 3.5 hours this afternoon so investigators could collect shell casings and other evidence. now, the chp says the shooting happened around 12:15 this afternoon. a car pulled up alongside a white sedan and shot the driver and a passenger. officers say both young men were hit. paramedics rushed the victims to the hospital. they have not released a severity of the injuries. investigators are still working to identify a motive and collect information about the suspect and the suspect's car. now, the chp says unlike contra costa county, they just don't see freeway shootings here. >> this type of thing does not happen in sonoma county. so i
