joe biden in knoxville, tennessee. live in hayward, anne makevoc, kpix 5. >>> this morning, wall street is digesting brand-new jobs numbers just in from the labor department. let's chat about it. jill wagnertch.com joins us on this friday morning. good morning, jill. >> reporter: good morning, frank and michelle. it was a rough start to 2015 but the markets opened today in positive territory for the year. the dow soared 323 points yesterday. the nasdaq was up 86. now, the december jobs report was another good one of the the labor department just released that report. it found that 252,000 jobs were created in december which makes 2014 the best year for hiring since 1999. the unemployment rate dropped from 5.8% to 5.6%. but earnings fell which means americans are back at work but aren't making more money. >>> speaking of jobs, about 16% of americans say getting a new one is their new year's resolution. a career builder survey also finds about 42% of people want to save more. there are some other resolutions. be less stressed and eat healthier at work. the number one perk that people say they want, half a day fridays. frank and michelle? >> we love friday. >>> well, we love sweets, too . >>
