joining me now democratic political consistent julie, joe watkins, aide to george h.w. bush, and rick tyler, former cruz campaign spokesman. very good morning to the three of you. i'll start with you, rick. what's your reaction to this "new york times" story? >> well, this has been an extraordinary week. although for the trump administration it seems to be par for the course. the julianne giuliani interview was planned by me and the president. it was so good, he went back on fox and friends the following morning and gave what was a really colossal interview. and i think trump watched the coverage all that morning and decided it wasn't going very well. and then he just threw giuliani under the trump bus. then later on backed over him. >> yeah. he did it in a nice way, though. he talked about that a good guy he is, and how much he he likesm and he just started. he is in p.r. mode right now. following this revelation he had been aware of the $130,000 payment to stormy daniel. take a listen. >> everybody knows this is a witch hunt. he started yesterday. he'll get his facts

let's bring back in danielle moody mills, joe watkins and rick tyler. o you do you make sense of the poll's findings? >> well it doesn't matter what the poll says, at the end of the day, the law is the law and the ban should be considered illegal. there's a harvard professor, i think benjamin sachs is his name who came out and said it violates collective bargaining and the violates the rights of free speech and the players ought to be able to use their platform this they wish to say what's on their mind and to bring attention to the fact that there's a problem in this country with police officers and african-americans. so i would be surprised if this ban is not, doesn't end up in court and end up being overturned. because it looks like the owners did not, did not notify the union, did not bargain with the union and that would be a violation of collective bargaining. >> danielle, here's how the president reacted to the new nfl policy. take a watch here. >> not only people should staying in locker rooms. you have to stand proudly ort national anthem. or yo

joe watkins, former white house aide to george h.w. bush. and rick tyler, former cruz campaign spokesman. my saturday morning family. good day to you guys. rick, let's get to you first. this administration is holding this up as an example of an anti-swamp mentality. can it be sold successfully that way? >> well, not really. michael cohen is donald trump's, by all accounts, his personal lawyer and continues to be his personal lawyer. it is remarkable he would be trying to sell influence to at&t, a drug company. he was on the campaign trail with donald trump. he knew what he said. so all of this is just baloney, very disingenuous. what was at&t going to pay for? i could tell you in three sentences how to get at&t's merger do. replace everybody on cnn. i'll send the bill. this is not hard stuff to figure out. >> how about, joe, overall, i think it's a mistake for the white house to push this line about michael cohen's dealings? >> i think it's a mistake. at the end of the day, what happened to drain the swamp? we have all of this evidence. i re
