let's celebrate and let me introduce our colleague, joel engardio. [applause] >> thank you. thank you. so, this morning in the sunset i represent the sunset and far west side of san francisco, i had two school graduations giving the commencement speech, low elhigh school and [indiscernible] i thought to myself, when i was in middle school and in high school as a closeted gay kid in the 1980's, it sure looked bleak, but there i was speaking to the future of today, and i know we have come a long long way, so it is because of the work that we've done as a city and county of san francisco and many people i see in the audience today over the years and decades who made it so that our children today do not have as bleak a future as i might have had in the 1980. there is so much work we need to do. the transgender community is under attack and rally around to make sure everyone in the lgbtq can survive and thrive in our country and in our world. i'm really proud to be the newest lgbtq member of the board of supervisors. i hope we can have more and thank you for celebrating the pride

this is definitely a step in the right direction and excited to be here with tndc and supervisor joel engardio and bank of america, our regular partners in the efforts to build more housing throughout san francisco and i'm glad to see all you here. this will help to serve families, people who are extremely low income, as well as those making a hundred thousand dollars a year because we know we need housing of all income levels and i am hopeful that as we continue to build more housing like this, it will make a big difference in the city and county of san francisco and finally, i want to express my appreciation to the voters of san francisco, because there have been two affordable housing bonds. housing bonds in the capital plan and we don't just random decide to do a affordable housing bonds but because of the voters we added $900 million more dollars to invest in affordable housing throughout san francisco so some of the projects delayed are in the process of moving forward, because of the support of the people of the city and county of san francisco, so thank you so much and looking forward

planned cuts to city services, specifically community ambassadors, supervisors, dean preston, joel engardio, and hillary ronen participated in a rally at city hall today expressing support for that program. the mayor's $15.9 billion budget proposal has plans to eliminate all funding by 2026. now, that program currently employs 34 people and is the only ambassador program staffed by the city. breed's plan will maintain most funding for local nonprofits that deploy their own community ambassadors who are meant to engage, build trust, and prevent violence. in some neighborhoods, we all know there have to be cuts here and there. i'm talking about the elimination of the community ambassador program, and that was included in the budget. i can't think of another issue where i have heard from so many people in my district all saying the exact same thing, which is we love this program. we want it to continue. the program has existed since 2010. today at the board of supervisors meeting, they presented a certificate honoring people that take part in the ambassador program. supervisors are expected to

let's celebrate and let me introduce our colleague, joel engardio. [applause] >> thank you. thank you. so, this morning in the sunset i represent the sunset and far west side of san francisco, i had two school graduations giving the commencement speech, low elhigh school and [indiscernible] i thought to myself, when i was in middle school and in high school as a closeted gay kid in the 1980's, it sure looked bleak, but there i was speaking to the future of today, and i know we have come a long long way, so it is because of the work that we've done as a city and county of san francisco and many people i see in the audience today over the years and decades who made it so that our children today do not have as bleak a future as i might have had in the 1980. there is so much work we need to do. the transgender community is under attack and rally around to make sure everyone in the lgbtq can survive and thrive in our country and in our world. i'm really proud to be the newest lgbtq member of the board of supervisors. i hope we can have more and thank you for celebrating the pride
