fox's joel waldman is live in boston tonight and joel washington was the reaction when the verdict wasnnounced because i think a lot of people did expect this? >> reporter: yeah, it was kind of a for gone conclusion dawn that this would be a guilty verdict. the question was on how many counts? dzhokar tsarnaev was facing 30 counts before the verdict was read the judge came out and basically said either way he didn't want much of a reaction from anyone in the courtroom. dzhokar tsarnaev who is now convicted and guilty on all counts of this crime showed absolutely no emotion one the verdict was read. to the displeasure of some of the victims involved in this case. there's interesting points to note here. there was a 32 page verdict foreman prior to the verdict being read this morning the juror has a couple of questions for the judge and they revolved around two counts. one was a conspiracy count and the other had to do with aiding an betting. they wanted clarification on both of those. dzhokar tsarnaev found guilty on all charges obviously he was found guilty on these two charges, and le

fox 29's joel waldman is live in boston tonight where he's been following the trial. joel?reporter: dawn, good evening to you. prosecutors of course argue that dzhokar tsarnaev played a pivotal role in the boston marathon bombings. his own defense team admitted to that as well. and now it's up to a jury to decide. five men and seven women charged with deciding the fate of 21-year-old dzhokar tsarnaev. although many legal analysts are expecting a quick guilty verdict, the jury needs to consider 30 different counts. >> they've going to through all of those. you've got weapons of mass destruction, carrying firearm murder you've got many many counting to through. they'll look at all of the evidence and not all of the evidence maybe but catalog some of it. go through count by count by count and go through this jury instruction. >> reporter: during closing arguments prosecutors tried to paint a picture tsarnaev is a cold-blooded killer. a radical terrorist who targeted innocent civilians because of a grudge against america. but tsarnaev's attorney insists his his client only took

. >> so let's get right now to joe waldman who is live there on the ground this morning. joelhappening now? >> go go go go. >> how are you doing? the city here this part that we're in in front of city hall here in baltimore is actually relatively quiet. it's a good distance -- i know you talked to peter at the top of the hour and he's about a mile and a half or so west of our position here. so this part of baltimore, a tale of two cities now, much more quiet. occasionally you can hear the faint din of police and fire engines here traveling through the city. the police department is just behind the view of the camera and a short time ago we saw a police chopper head out from this position here. now, the national guard this morning has arrived in the city of baltimore. we're hearing that up to 5,000 national guardsmen could be deployed. right now, obviously, the number is far fewer than that. we saw some of their mobilized units maneuvering through the city heading out to some of the more troubled spots. but, again, this part of the city a lot more quiet now. obviously, the gove

. >> joe waldman is live on the ground. joel look around right now, it seems quiet, is it?. very quiet here in front of baltimore city hall. most of the violence is off your tv screen to the left over my left shoulder. that is the western part of the city. that's where we saw a lot of images from yesterday. i will have my cameraman peer over here you'll see an armored vehicle. we believe that's a national guard vehicle. we think it's what's known as an m wrap which is used to defuse mines in the battlefield. law enforcement not taking any chance husband here. the baltimore city police department is behind the camera's position here. and they are heavily armed with barricades up to insure that no rioters can breach that area. as you know by now, a state of emergency has been declared here. 1,500 national guardsmen on their way over. as many as 5,000 could come. 500 state troopers and the governor now also asking for an additional 5,000 law enforcement officers. so what a difference 24 hours makes. law enforcement being stepped up here in a big way. the police commissioner ma
