let's go now to john berman over at the magic wall. n, we've been watching very closely as these votes have been coming in, particularly early in the democratic parts of the state. they were not enough for the democratic challenger. >> that's right. not enough. 86% in right now. tate reeves, the incumbent republican, holds a lead of about 42,000 votes. and cnn projects that lead will hold . we've been watching hines county the most populous county in the state, with about 80% in brandon pressley, the democrat, has a huge lead there. he leads by almost 60, almost what, 38,000 votes. but even with 20% still remaining, it will not be enough to close that gap. and it's interesting, brandon pressley, i think received a lot of national attention in the last few weeks, partially because he's second cousins with elvis presley, partially because democrats thought he ran a very good campaign. but if you look at this race with a candidate democrats were happy with against a weak republican incumbent and i say weak because he's been dealing with so

i'm sara sidner with kate bolduan and john berman. this is cnn "news central." >>> there are new indications this morning that israel's ground offensive in gaza could be expanding to the south. leaflets were dropped wednesday on the communities to the west of khan yunis which warned the civilians to move to known shelters. in the north, the idf is now 36 hours into the raid at al shifa hospital. the israeli forces remain both inside and in the vicinity of the gaza's largest hospital. several humanitarian groups have questioned this operation as hundreds of patients and thousands of civilians are known to be sheltering in the hospital completion. there is new video of the idf showing weapons found inside of the hospital in the raid and promising more evidence of hamas's presence is coming. this morning john kirby reiterated that u.s. intelligence, has intelligence itself that hamas used the hospital as a head qquarters. >> we are confident that the basement areas underneath the hospital, and the hospital itself is being used by hamas a

john berman in for anderson. first, the when, which we thought was just a few hours away, a temporary pause in fighting between israeli forces in hamas followed by the release of the first 50 hostages from gaza and 150 palestinians being held in israel. late today, however, israel's national security counscil -- will not start until friday. this includes the pause in fighting, also delayed until friday. as to the question of who, a source familiar with the matter tells us that the u.s. officials have a working list of ten hostages they believe are likely to be released on day one of the process. and though no one is publicly naming the ten, administration officials today did talk specifically about three americans being held. >> we anticipate that three americans will come home. one is the toddler, abigail, and two other american women. and of course we have about ten total americans unaccounted for. but we're not going to rest here. >> abigail is abigail e dan. she is three years old but is about to turn four. h
