the founder wrote a book a short biography of john birch in the 1950s. alleging the u.s. government crime was not necessarily that u.s. government had conspired to conceal the murder as part of the communist plot. he was kind of seen as a martyr and the first victim of world war iii. the brief background is the start in december of 58 a group of 12 mostly a wealthy industrialist meeting in a hush-hush meeting in indianapolis. they decide to form a group and the purpose was to operate outside of the two-party system. to try to educate the party about the internal communist threat. i because in a way they looked at the republican party which was s probably the national natural home they thought the party was part of the left it was part of the communist movement essentially and it was hopeless. the way to push back is to teach people about the nature of the threat to the grassrootsob mobilization and education shocked people into a realization. anyway they started to form chapters that had a home chapter based in belmont, massachusetts they operated 20 person chapters one t
