john bussey, from the "wall street journal," fox news contributor news contributor. john, i was thinking knowing that you were coming and a great student of history as well. those that rise quickly fall. a year ago this guy had close to 80% approval ratings. we can go back in time, talking about presidents riding high with a landslide win in 1972 and less than two years later resigning in disgrace. so fame and fortune can change quickly. what is your sense of what is happening here? >> yeah, fame and fortune can change quickly. that has an after shock. democrats have to worry about this. his fourth term election campaign is underway with november of 2022 in mind. that happens to be the mid-terms as well. the democrats have to be thinking, do we really want this ballist in the hot air balloon or is it time to shove it out? if you look back in history, the clinton impeachment trial ended up with him being acquitted by the senate on perjury and obstruction of justice charges. the knock-on effect of that probably cost al gore the election. al gore thinks so. clinton said

john bussey, "wall street journal," associate editor with us right now, not only what it created abroadow democrats. john, what is going on? >> well the president messed up and the administration did. this is kind of no way to talk your way around the chaos that we've all seen unfold in kabul. you have got a lot of veterans from afghanistan and iraq wars in congress now that were kind of raising the alarm early and within the administration, outside the administration. so you know, whether or not we should have withdrawn, whether or not we kept a nominal level of troops there, that can be debated but getting prepared for a vietnam-style exit where you try to avoid what happened in vietnam just didn't seem to be in the cards with the president. i think that is going to be part of his legacy. neil: i'm just wondering where it goes from here though? assuming, hoping we get the people that need to get out of there out of there, that is no guarranty that taliban will help in that process, you never know, i am wondering about the residual and damage concerns in the whole region? >> the region
