john thomas. kcrg t-v nine's iowa city bureau chief mark carlson joins us now. mark, turnout hasn't been very high? yes, bruce. that's the story right now, very low voter turnout in this election. as of 3 o'clock about 5 percent of registered voted. polling places in iowa city have seen a slow trickle of voters throughout the day. this is video from horace mann elementary, there. the council could see a significant shift tonight. 3 incumbents are on the ballot, and mayor matt hayek is not seeking re- election. so four seats are up for grabs. one issue that has divided the council and community at times is the 15-story building expected to go up at college and gilbert streets known as the chauncey. that is one of the big issues for people on the ballot, there are a many differencing options about how to handle future development in and around downtown iowa city. we will watch the returns come in with four of the candidates calling themselves the core four this evening. we'll have their at ten. in iowa city, mark carlson, kcrg tv nine news. we'll have the results
