casey. this should be kasich country. beautiful affluent county, a dem grohhic john kasich should do well with. you recall in maryland county we were talking to voters about what to do with guidance from the campaign? should they switch their vote to cruz or stay with kasich? we came here to talk with a lot of the voters and it seems the confusion remains. the co-chair of his indiana election campaign, jim brainard, a mayor of a nearby town, he is running the show here and we wanted to talk to him about what he thinks voters should do, a conflicting message, kasich said voters ought to vote for me and then i won't tell voters what to do. his co-chair said i think voters should vote for cruz. we went one last time to the co-chair and said, mayor, who do you think the voters ought to vote for and he backed out, i don't want to get into it. that's clearly the new message from the kasich campaign and signal they are not going to campaign here but not willing to go the whole way and tell their vote others to cross over to cruz. the vote is quite chaotic, one family the mother voting kasich but wanti

that's why john kasich is the only one to win the election and delegates care about electability. >> casey, you're out there covering this. give us a sense what is happening out there. >> the question right now is what are these outside groups going to do as this starts to unfold and do they have enough money? this is in many ways this kind of desperation ploy born of the fact that there are all of these multiple paths for trump that rick was talking about to get to 1237. the needle is much smaller, you know, they really have to thread the needle if they stop him and actually get to the open convention and i have to tell you, chris, i talked to john kasich today at his event in rockville not that far from here and, you know, those of us that covered him for a long time know him to be a happy warrior, this guy that has a smile and joke and he was not that way at all today with me. it was the opposite. it was clear that it almost seemed as though he was being dragged into something here. you know, i asked him about donald trump and what you just played where he is making fun of eating habits

john kasich appearing in front of republicans there yesterday. donald trump's team expected to show up there today. we're joined now. casey hunt is in florida. obviously, the topic of what's to come for this republican primary fight on the agenda down there in florida. what's going on. what are you hearing down there? >> a couple of things here, steve. first of all, the battle between cruz and kasich heating up with cruz calling kasich a spoiler. kasich turning around saying he has just as good of a shot at the nomination. the up shot of that back and forth, though, with both of those men relying on an open convention to have any hope of winning the nomination when all is said and done, that could ultimately help donald trump. there are a lot of insiders in the halls here starting to wonder. this is sick luckal. it goes back and forth. the idea donald trump won so strongly in new york that he now, of course, is more likely to end up with that hard 1,237 number. there's broad agreement he has to hit that on this first ballot or he'll not be the republican party's nominee. now his top staff, paul manafort and others are going to make a 90-minu

revealing the existence of the deal like casey was just talking about, did that end up playing into donald trump's hands? >> it depends on how you play it. if i had been in johnasich's shoes, i would have been much more aggressive in explaining, look, a vote for donald trump is a vote to elect hillary clinton as president of the united states and to put chuck schumer in as head of the senate. under those circumstances, they will likely go to the democrats and may reelection nancy pelosi as house speaker. if they had been more expressive and the principal circumstance is related to the data. donald trump has the worst unfavorable ratings of any potential nominee for the white house in the history of polling. you have polling that shows that donald trump's most favorable case, he loses by three points. he loses by 18 points with the general consensus being in the 7 to 12-point range. this is the last chance to save the white house for a republican who is a conservative and will adhere to make america the greatest nation in world history. it's the last chance voting for ted cruz to keep the united states senate in conservative hands and it's the last risk of nan
