clark county, right here in las vegas. and i don't think i could put it any better than our friend john rollston, a friend of msnbc, a long time dean out here in las vegas. he said in a city of 247 this is place where voting has stopped for the night while in other places it continues to go on. so we will be waiting tomorrow morning at noon eastern, 9:00 local here to get that batch of votes and see where it leans. now, historically these mail-in votes have leaned democratic, leaned towards the democrats. but we also know here in las vegas there has been a huge hit to the economy. the unemployment rate here is higher than the national average. we've got jobless claims out yet again today. the state hurting yet again. so that has hurt the democratic governor here, and it may have an impact on biden. we will have to wait and see until tomorrow morning, brian. >>ites been cruel to the economy in las vegas. thank you very much. again, the difference thereof 11,438 voters. still too close to call. back with us tonight is jeremy bash, former chief of staff at cia, pentagon, former chief counsel to house intel. but notably as a

john: the margin is 7500 votes in joe biden's favor. the issue is, there are so many outstanding male ballots. tensf thousands, in clarknty, which is las vegas, a democratic stronghold, and where democrats in the pre-election mail balloting one by more than two to one. so they are confident once those are counted, the advantage will grow even more in biden's favor. a lot of people are asking why are these votes counted yet? this is a new ballgame for nevada. we have never had this kind of volume of mail balloting before. the legislature in a special session controlled by the democrats mandated that every active registered voter get a ballot. that has caused the mix of votes to be very different than usual, and they don't have the staff and they are a bit overwhelmed, especially in urban areas, especially in clark county. clark county is las vegas, and washoe county is reno, and they said they will announce results at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. there may be rural numbers that come out today, but those will be a very small number of votes. it won't move the needle that much. judy: they say 10:00 tomorrow. they put a time on it

john, good evening to you. within an hour or so of nevada being called for former vice president now president elect joe biden supporters of president trump defended here upon the clark county election center there are a couple of hundred at one point as you can see now that has dwindled to probably just about a couple of dozen. their main chant here today has been stopped to feel pinning their hopes on republican legal challenges to the vote camps here now, those have so far failed pretty quickly. republican lawyers were in federal court here yesterday asking for emergency relief on two points verification of signatures and transparency in other words, the ease of which members of the public and media could watch the count. judge andrew gordon district court judge here heard those republican lawyers arguments and dismissed them on both of those claims. now republicans led by former acting director of national intelligence have also alleged that several thousand votes by those not residents of nevada they wrote a letter to the department of justice alleging that. they have asked the department of justice to investigate now a pretty cursory look at the list of names t

the nevada don't just come from clark county which is las vegas or reno up here but it comes from all over the state. so that might lead us to think about the logic that john roberts was giving from the white house about the fact they think they're still in nevada. john was also talking about arizona. the white house has not given up on this. the great pushback we were given last night when we made the call. the associated press did the same thing. at the moment arizona hasn't changed. it is still blue. pop down here to georgia. before i do that let me make this point here, guys? because this is what it is all about. of the three states i just talked about, if joe biden were to hang on to michigan and wisconsin and keep nevada he is at 270. don't know what will happen in georgia or north carolina or pennsylvania. get to that in a moment. the scenario, reset this and we shall restart it in the morning. for the trump team this is what they're looking at. the margin in georgia is just so super tight. you want to keep georgia. a few points here in north carolina. share that in a moment. you want to keep north carolina. then are there more votes to be found in

spoke with john ralston about how late the voting, how late the accounts were being reported out of nevada. >> nevada is a lot like arizona. it is very large in terms of land area. so much is clarkhere las vegas is, washington county where reno is. the overwhelming majority of the population will be in these two plays. a lot of spaces but not a lot of votes. it is even reported out there. in the same way, we're waiting for maricopa county in arizona. we're all waiting for clark county in nevada. we saw when the initial vote came in. the mail-in vote. as of this past week, all the ballots until this past weekend. now they're adding to that same day vote. you can see on it this meter here. everything in orange is that initial batch of votes. on this is what is expected to favor trump. the question is, only a very little amount. how much can trump make up? you're talking about almost two-thirds of the population in arizona. almost two-thirds. voters will come out of maricopa county. it is an enormous sprawling suburb. it kind of assess the tone. >> steve kornacki, thank you. we'll take a quick break in part because we are expecting remarks from the president fairly soon. i should t
