jacob, good morning. 10,000 john deere workers went on strike this morning.e seeing what feels like an uptick in strikes? >> good morning, jose. that's right, it is the largest private sector strike in two years. 10,000 members of the united autoworkers striking against john deere, asking for better pay and as you say, that is part of a national push when it comes to negotiations between labor and management. we also see iatsi, the behind the scenes union in hollywood preparing to go on strike. they say they could strike as early as monday. that's about 60,000 members of the behind the scenes union in hollywood and would bring hollywood production to a halt. they say the revenue for hollywood has gone up during the pandemic and they haven't seen their share of it and you mentioned nurses. about 21,000 members of the nursing union here in california saying that they are prepared to go on strike, about 96% of them voted in favor. they have the to issue about a ten-day warning, because it is such a big deal, but they are striking against what they say is an unfa

about to enter their third week of strike at john deere. you might remember last week we reported that the u.s. secretary of agriculture, tom vilsack, made an unprecedented trip to the picket line, visited the john deere workers picketing in iowa. during that visit tom vilsack showed his own union card showing those striking workers, i'm here for you. and when that happened last week, we actually consulted a presidential historian and a labor historian, both of whom told us that that had never happened before. a visit by a sitting cabinet secretary in support of americans out on strike. that is something that we've never seen before, at least in modern american history. in the past, some u.s. labor secretaries have met with striking workers and company executives to try to negotiate an end to a strike. but a sitting cabinet member actually showing up to a picket line to show support for striking workers, that is not something we have ever seen before in the united states of america. when tom vilsack did that last week with john deere worker
