host: john della volpe?alks a lot about the sense of the state of political discourse in this country. a lot of that information shared online through social networks. my instinct is that those qualities do not only apply to young people, young americans. they apply unfortunately to all americans. i do not think that young americans deserve to be blamed as the only ones not paying attention or not well educated on these issues. in our survey work we do not just ask the horserace questions , we dive deeply into issues like the sense of the american dream, the role of the government, sense of foreign policy, etc. we have a wide-ranging view of issues and ideologies of this generation, and they are far more well researched and they take it much more seriously than many people might think. the fact that only one in two might vote, does not mean they are apathetic. it means they do not trust the system and they do not think their vote matters because they do not necessarily see a significant difference in the fut
