john dickerson and nancy cordes are joining us tonight. john, you've been looking into christie's win. >> yeah, what he's selling and what he was selling in that message is a message of effective government. from tea party candidates we've heard about dismantling, shrinking government. what governor christie is talking about is making it work. there's another message which was purely political. governor christie got a third of democratic voters. he won women voters against a female candidate and he won 50% of hispanic voters. those are all groups republicans have had troubles with. so the question is, if he's going to run for president, will he be able to duplicate that? one thing that's hard to duplicate is that support came from his response in the aftermath of hurricane sandy. he can't duplicate that national level. the other big test is the republican primary process. the question there will be is he conservative enough. in new jersey, governor christie cut taxes, he took on the unions, he's pro life but conservatives worry about things

joining us now with some insight is cbs news political director john dickerson. welcome. let's start with the affordable care act because the president touring the country selling his healthcare plan. a new report from politico claims today only five people in d.c. signed up for the insurance. what do you make of this? >> that's not good news. that's based on analysis by republicans in the senate in the finance committee that that few have signed up. this is the big problem both from a political and policy perspective. politically it's another sign that this website has been a disaster, but also as a policy matter the president needs to get the website going so that the entire experiment can work. there need to be young people signing up for these exchanges so that there doesn't become what they call the death spiral which is too many older people signing up and not enough younger americans. >> speaking of which a new gallup poll shows 20% of uninsured americans plan on signing up for the affordable care act. what happens if only 20% sign up? >> well, at first it could be

and john dickerson our cbs news political director. welcome all of you. let me start if you you served in the administration, worked for president obama. this is a little bit more though than second term blues, this was a failed roll out of obamacare, is the credibility of his presidency on the line? >> well, i think the credibility of the presidency is always on the line no matter what is going on. i don't think anybody inside the white house right now including the president is happy with the way this has rolled out. the health care law. i think that he's trying to take steps to fix it. making sure that the website is up and working by the end of this month. that people can go online sign up for health care and of course we heard what he said couple of nights ago, apologizing for what's happening to some people in the individual market. i think that -- we are in a snapshot of time right now we know how quickly these things change. three weeks ago we were talking about a government shut down i think we have to see how things progress, the president's com

robinson had been killed in a shooting spree that injured amanda john, 29-year-old jihad brumsley, and 24-year-old albert dickinson -- dickerson as well as 25-year-old yvette sterling. officers rushed to the scene as hundreds of patrons were running out. they walked in and found six victims of gun violence. just a dispute in a club resulting in the death of erica robinson and a few more. a few days ago in cyprus, texas, there was another shooting in a club in which two high school students were killed, and 19 others were injured. actually this was at a house party. shortly before 11:00 p.m. on november 9, 2013 there was a house party celebrating a young woman's 18th birthday. and because of a local dispute between two rival groups, queric richardson, 17 years old, was killed and aeriel shepherd as well. according to authorities, richardson was shot in the head while he was running away from the house party. and students returned to school on monday, there was a lot of crying as they mourned the death of two of their classmates. school parties celebrating 18th birthdays, clubs in places like new haven, bridgeport, connecticut,
