john duarte, the republican adam gray, the democrat right now, it's a pretty tight race. it is leaning slightly republican with duarte at 50.1% of the vote. only 42% of votes have been counted so far. so we've got a bit to go. but at the moment it's leaning republican right to its south is district. 22 now in that one, the republican incumbent david, while dot of a rudy salas, democratic challenger. and this also was close earlier on. they've started to split up just a little bit, but we're only even less than a 3rd of the votes counted. we'll have to see how that goes. but those that sent 2 of the main account or districts in california, we've been tracking also following at a new mexico, too. we've got district 2 out there. it looks like the democrat may overtake the republican incumbent. so we've got gabriel vasquez with 50.0. 3 1% of the vote is only 2% of the vote left to count. so it's coming down to the wire. that could be a potential democratic pickup if they can continue on that track and then to the north, let's see if we can't get over oregon. i wonder if we ca

john duarte, 42% of votes in at the moment. but you can see it's a very close race. republican pickup votes continue at least on this track. but we'll have to wait and see just to the south, though, is a potential pickup for democrats. this is california district. 22, the republican incumbent right now has 54% of the vote only 31%, though of the vote has been counted. and there is some speculation that rudy solace with only 46% right now could close that gap. we'll have to wait. if that that would be a pickup for california and for democrats there in california and that could tip the balance here as we're counting down to who has control of the house in nearby new mexico. let's check in also with new mexico district 2. that's another one. that's a potential toss up right now. we have the incumbent republican with 49% of the vote. democratic challenger gabriel vasquez has 50.3. and as you can see, 98% of the votes have been counted so far. so there aren't many left to count. if the democrats can maintain this lead, this could be another pickup again for democrats. and

john duarte and adam gray are vying in the newly redrawn 13th district. 40% of the estimated vote is in. duarte is ahead by 203 votes. very close in the house contest. ken calvart is up there. 41%. only 41% of the estimated vote is in. calvert is ahead by only 453 votes. quite a few close races in the golden state. democratic incumbent katie porter trying to beat back a challenge by the republican. 59% of the estimated vote is now in. katie is ahead by 1552 votes. the balance of power where things stand for the control of the house of representatives. you need 218 for the majority in the house. republicans have 209. they picked up 16 seats so far. democrats have 192. they've picked up 4 seats so far. 34 seats remain outstanding at this point right now. so here's the state of play. democrats must win 21 competitive seats. republicans must win 7 competitive seats in order to gain the majority in the house of representatives. let's go over to john king at the magic wall. these races in the house of representatives, they are very, very tight. it could be decided by a few hundred votes. >
