he's been a nice find in the bull pen for john farrell and pitching coach juan nieves. this is his 15th game. he is on to try to do something with trout coming up. next saturday on "baseball night in america" these angels will be at home to take on the yankees. the a's host the marine mariners, tigers/twins, white sox/astros. baseball night in america presented by ace hardware begins next saturday at 7:00 eastern only on fox. breslow has as long as he needs to get loose. he was up in the bull pen prior to whatever drove buchholz out of this game. but because it was an injury, breslow has as long as he needs. i'm sure john farrell is wondering how significant that injury is, if it's an injury at all, with clay buchholz. we'll just have to wait and find out. angels fans tune in to fox sports west tomorrow for the final game of this series, coverage starts 10:00 a.m. pacific. it will be joe blanton and ryan dempster, two right-handers. dempster going for his second straight win. he and the red sox took apart the rangers the last time he made a start. joe blanton good again

the second book on my summer reading list is another book a biography of tip o'neill by john farrell a former colleague who is a traffic writer. it's an older book but i cover congress that seems like the perfect thing to read since tip o'neill was supposed to be a terrific book. a third book on my summer reading list is lean and by sheryl sandberg from facebook. it needs no introduction and it's about how women in the workplace should succeed and it's an important book to try to read. as a huge baseball fan i can go without reading a baseball book one of which is the art of fielding. if you're reading a novel he might as well have these ball stories inside of it. and the fifth book is sort of guilty pleasure reading that i haven't done yet and have put off which is game of thrones which is a popular tv show and a huge book series. my big fear is once you start reading the books i'm told you have have to read all of them so i have to carve out quite a bit of time that but i may try to tackle the first one this summer. .. fully the responsibility of mao and the communist party. it's a

updike, welcome back to our budget committee, thanks for being here. >> thank you, chair farrell. john up dike. >> this is a lease for the department of environmental health action at fox plaza. and it is an expansion as well as a give back of some premises which is a net increase in space, but a fairly modest one taking us from.25,937 to 27,726 this is to accommodate the growth in the weights and measures areas that have occurred over the years. the suites to be leased are on the second, fourth, and 8th and ninth floors as well as storage spaces. the lease rate as negotiated here before you is just under 36 dollars per square foot per year, it is fixed for the five year term. so we find this to be advantageous rate for the city and locked in until november 30th of 2018. the lease also contains one five-year option for renewal, which could take us out to 2023, that is subject to negotiations at 95 percent of the fair market rent and that needs to return to the board of supervisors for approval. and so the only issue now is the five-year lease. as noted in the budget analyst report, the
