john fowler's piece, we were just talking about seeing all that water.hat water -- [ talking at the same time ] >> i love after a big rain, i love watching the run off. seeing where it goes. where is it going? that is why the snow pack is important because this water runs into the bay. in the mountains it sits up there in the snow and melts slowly feeds in slowly and we are able to capture it in reservoirs. a lot of times -- it is all about the snow. really about how much snow we get in the mountains so it could time release the water accordingly so we can store it. it is painful to watch it run off. here is the system that will miss us. a nice looking weather system. it goes over the top. radar is spinning. not much to show. rain around lake shasta. big reservoir filling up in lake sonoma. northern portion of humboldt county. snow was okay. not a ton. but snow, that is good. higher elevations. it does -- it is interesting, that drives it into your head, why we need snow. the snow time releases and puts it in a form that we can control. when it runs, we

john fowler, ktvu, fox 2 news. >>> we've got some clouds out there now. but just light clouds to the north of us. this next weather system goes over the top. it misses us. we stay dry now for the next couple of days. the radars are sweeping, not picking up anything in our neighborhood proper. valley fog is starting to form. i've got dew points right now in santa rosa at about 46 degrees. the temperature is at 47 degrees. so another degree drop, and you'll see more fog forming. so lots of patches, patchy areas of valley fog in the inland north and east bay valleys. just be ready for that. so without the rain, with the dry air we're going to experience, we're going to be back into this kind of fog/sun cycle with a warming trend into the next few days. overnight lows down into the mid-40s. look for that fog when you get going tomorrow morning. in san jose tomorrow morning, you wake up at about 50 degrees. maybe a little patchy fog. then 64, daytime high in san jose, 66, 67 degrees. temperatures well above the average. as we move forward in time, as we get to
