our john gonzalez is in silver spring were residents of one neighborhood are starting to get frustrated. john: good afternoon. the cabin fever has kicked in. some in this neighborhood are doing something to try to get out of the cabin fever and get out of their homes. we have been talking to people from around the d.c. who are essentially trapped inside their homes because snow plows have come through these neighborhoods. this is one right here in silver spring. right nearenue, blair high school to give you a lay of the land. take a look. you see the tracks, the marks on the snow? those aren't tire tracks. those are footsteps of people coming in and out of the neighborhood. not one plow has come through here. folks have been doing what they supposed to. they shoveled and plowed their driveways, doug out their cars, they have even done this over here, the fire hydrants. they cleared out the fire hydrants, the three foot rule. the problem is they still can't get out of the neighborhood. there is a story within the story. for the past several hours, the neighborhood children said we are go

john gonzalez is live with a look at the work that still needs to be done in some neighborhoods. this no outlet sign in aspen hill, maryland has never been truer. we are here in this neighborhood that has not seen a plow. of course the blizzard is long gone but we are still feeling the effects. hundreds if not thousands of families are still trapped inside their homes in the d.c. area. not a plow but private contractors have come by. they were not very successful. they go for 200 feet and they have to stop is the problem is this snow has been here for so long it is starting to get packed and difficult to remove. our storm watch yardstick showing about 16 inches on worton road which means not a lot of it has melted. resident in the county are growing more frustrated. on hallowell, we were over there. no plows. the streets under snow. the montgomery county department of transportation website shows neighborhoods like those are in the process of being plowed. residents say that is not the case. back in aspen hill this is ron and susie. two residence here. i found you trying to walk
