john henrehan has the latest on this case. >> reporter: the incident happened on january 12th at the west view sip ma on route 58 in frederick county, maryland. it involved 26-year-old ethan saylor who was developmentally disabled from down syndrome. he saw an evening showing of the movie zero dark thirty and apparently liked it so much he wanted to see it again. the young man left the theater and then came back inside to see the late night screening without purchasing a new ticket. a manager could not convince him to leave. ultimately, three off-duty sheriff's deputies who were working security were called in to ask saylor to depart. >> going by all accounts, the young man became loud, belligerent, became disorderly. >> reporter: sheriff chuck jenkins describes what happens next. >> this is going by witness accounts. very respectful, get under his arms, lift him from the seat. walk him over toward the egress area from the theater. and at some point during this, they handcuffed him and escorted him out. >> reporter: the sheriff says the young man then went down to the floor, handcuff

fox 5's john henrehan has more on the murders and the case. >> reporter: in january of 2009 karen and carissa lofton, a mother and teenage daughter, were shot to death in their largo home. two months later delores and ebony dewitt, another mother daughter pair were murdered. their bodies were found in a burning stolen car. now retired firefighter charles flynn told the jury upon seeing the remains he had to briefly step away from the vehicle. >> it was pretty bad. anybody would react like that. it basically took my breath away. i had to gain my composure. >> reporter: upon seeing photos of the charred remains one juror stood and began bolting for a bathroom. the judge called a recess. 30-year-old jason thomas scott is now on trial for murder in connection with the deaths of the dewitts. according to prosecutors, scott who worked for ups used package delivery address technology to burglarize a series of homes in the largo area. both sides agree that scott confessed to the burglaries. that man was the burglar declared assistant state's attorney christine murphy who added scott was also

john henrehan has more on the details. john. >> reporter: and in that fourth incident, police believe it was a phony gun used. there has been an arrest in that attempted robbery, but the three other armed robbery cases, including the one on campus, remain open. the recent spate of robberies occurred one and off of the university of maryland college camps. the most recontribute happened off campus at 11:20 friday night. according to the prince georges county police, three people were walking on lakeland road east of rhode island avenue when they crossed paths with two men. the two men came up behind them and each pulled out a handgun. they robbed two of the three victims. police say the suspects fled on foot heading eastbound on lakeland running toward the train tracks. the county and campus police flooded into the area and that were unable to find the two suspects. on thursday night, a female victim was robbed on campus. it happened in parking lot kk, which is behind the chemical nuclear engineering building. a man wearing

fox 5's john henrehan explains. >> reporter: much of the commercial prosperity in old town alexandriaits proximity to the potomac river. most of the waterfront is beautiful, but there are a couple old commercial warehouses there soon to be sold by a subsidiary of the washington post company presumably sold to developers. this land is commercially zoned, so the new owners could easily build riverfront housing or offices. city officials have tried to change the zoning to allow about 20% more density. that would bring more tax revenue to alexandria say from a hotel and the developer would have to guarantee broad public access to the waterfront. opponents want no more density and have waged a legal battle in the courts claiming the city council's majority vote was insufficient, that the zoning change required a super majority vote. alexandria officials are now willing to yield on that procedure point. >> we are agreeing to meet the super majority standard that the litigation opponents are asking for even though we don't think it's required. >> reporter: mayor bill euille believes the rela

john henrehan is live with the latest. john. >> reporter: the groping assaults on women in and around springfield started in late september. the assailant attacked women of varying ages from a 15-year-old girl to a woman in her late 40s. an earlier release of the composite of the suspect, he was generally described as a latino man with a goatee and beard and comes up behind them and when he screams -- they scream, he runs off and this is a sketch from a more recent incident. around this time, the suspect groped a 21-year-old woman on gray fox drive in springfield and he was wearing a gray t- shirt at the time with blue sleeves and dark sweatpants. this time, the police are describing the man as white or possibly hispanic and 5'4", correction, that is 5'6" to 5'8", weighing 180 pounds. he's described as having acne or shaving bumps on the cheeks. in the incidents a week ago, he was described as having a beard. police hope that anyone recognizing this man or his loathing -- clothing from the description here and what we will
