the incumbent governor is a democrat, john hickenlooper. tomorrow republicans in colorado are going to pick who they want to run against john hickenlooper and using the claire mccaskill playbook, democrats have decided to help republicans make their decision. democrats are trying to get republican voters tomorrow in colorado to pick the republican nominee who the democrats would be most excited to run against. there are four republicans in the primary tomorrow. running for the chance to run against john hickenlooper for governor. they include a former congressman with a lot of name recognition, the current secretary of state in colorado. but obviously the guy who democrats most want to run against is tom tancredo. he's run for governor before and lost. he's run for president before and lost, obviously. tom tancredo is now a writer for "world net daily" and his platform for this run for governor in colorado is he wants to impeach president obama. tom tancredo says president obama should be sent back to kenya. he says we should bomb mecca. he

he'll take on john hickenlooper in the fall. beauprez who lost the 2006 governor's race to bill ritter by 17 points told supporters last night, quote, i grew up in an america where you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again. this is a very different environment than 2006. >> i'm not sure i ever flip-flopped on any of those. i think you look at the hard decisions you make day in and day out, i try to get all the information i can. in the end you make the decision. you try to respect other people's points of view, but we haven't flip-flopped. >> that was actually john hickenlooper. we had a little video mess-up there. he was responding to a question about the idea that he's flip-flopped on the issue of guns. so that was his reaction to the beauprez win and obviously he says he is not a flip-flopper. and says that stuff caught on camera is something that, you know, is -- that he can work through. more good news for the gop establishment, in the oklahoma senate race support from senator ted cruz and former gove

face off against the incumbent governor john hickenlooper. beauprez.more of a republican establishment figure. gloria borger, bob beauprez, he was a late entry in, but he wins. he is the republican gubernatorial candidate will challenge the governor, john hickenlooper, gloria. this is a significant development. >> right. it is. i think some democrats were sort of privately hoping for tom tancredo. he is a divisive figure within the republican party. and they believe it would have brought out democratic voters to the poll because of his views, for example, on immigration. and so i think that tancredo's loss is something that the democrats kind of would have said look, we might have liked him there. so hickenlooper will have a fight on his hands. you know, one thing, wolf, just to go back to the cochran race for a minute, which is so interesting to see. because i think it's become a proxy battle for what is going on inside the republican party. and if you just look at the surrogates who have gone to that state. dana knows this better than anyone. john mc
