john carlin. and i'm dawn jefferies. governor terry mcauliffe announced today... details of an agreement he struck with republicans in the general assembly that will mean historic gun reform in the commonwealth. it would also mean an end to talks of canceling concealed carry reciprocity agreements with 25 other states. wsls 10's rob manch is here with the latest. rob - what does this agreement means going forward? mcauliffe says what it means is that the 2 bills he has submitted to reform gun laws in the commonwealth are going to pass. in return, he's assuring republicans concealed carry permits from all 50 states will continue to be honored in virginia. the first of those 2 bills would require state police to be present at all gun shows. also be able to ask police to perform a background check on their clients. the second bill would ban people under a restraining order from owning guns, and mcauliffe says based on recent history, it will make the state safer. terry mcauliffe, governor: "we had 2 instances last year in virginia under a restraining order where some

i'm dawn jefferies. and i'm john carlin. danville city schools' superintendent says the decision to close school for the fourth straight day today because of the snow was the right decision. he says the school is working with public works to get the roads to the point where the school district feels the roads are safe...and until then he says having the students out on the roads just isn't a smart idea. wsls 10's colter anstaett spoke to both the superintendent and the danville public works driving around danville, you may think that the roads are clear enough to make them safe for students to be out and about on, and for the most part they are, but several streets are hilly and narrow to the point where even a small amount of snow or ice makes driving on the roads unsafe, and that is what superintendent stanley jones is concerned about. stanley jones/danville superintendent - "we don't ever want to put one student at risk." jones says school district employees drive around multiple times a day to check on the road condition

john carlin. and i'm dawn jefferies. we now know more about an accidental shooting in halifax county. 10's colter anstaett tells us what message the sheriff's office is now emphasizing as a result of this shooting. around 3 p-m sunday, a woman was in the driveway of her home here on hudson road in halifax county when she was hit once in the abdomen with a round from a .22 caliber rifle. the sheriff's office says that round was fired by a juvenile who lives at a neighboring property. maj. tommy spencer/halifax co. - "he was just doing some random shooting on his property. the houses were approximately 250 to 300 yards apart." the woman, whose name the sheriff's office refused to release today, was taken to duke university hospital in north carolina for treatment. major tommy spencer says the case will be presented to the commonwealth attorney and the commonwealth attorney will decide if any charges will be filed. but, major spencer said there's no telling how long it will be before the investigation is completed and the c
