john? john: mr. chairman, your communications director a couple of weeks ago sent out a memo to interested parties on a variety of different things. one of the issues he raised in that memo was bill clinton's travels with jeffrey epstein who is as you know a convicted sex offender. i'm curious why the rnc decided to go there and what you hope to achieve by raising the issue. reince: we're hoping other folks in the media start asking questions as to what all the strips were about, and i think there's a lot of unanswered questions about the clintons. we have hillary clinton's brother in a contract that he received after 50 years of no mining in haiti -- suddenly, the first contract comes out, and it turns out that hillary's relatives get the contract for a multimillion dollar mining deal. the point is as much as we think we know the clintons, what this e-mail controversy has revealed to us, johnand it goes to your question about epstein and this life they lead -- is that we really do not know these people. we really don't know hillary clinton. john: let me interrupt you -- you guys raised not a general question but a specific question about jeffrey epstein. what are the questions you would like to have answered about president clinton's relationship jeffrey epstein? reince: we would like to know what he was doing with him, how many trips he took, what he did with he was with this guy. when you hang out with a guy who has a reputation like jeffrey epstein and you are with a former president multiple times on private jets and weekends and trips on places that at least had been reported not very good things happened, it would be good to know what our former president was doing, especially since it appears as though he will be part of a presidential campaign ticket on the other side of the aisle. john: mark, go ahead. mark: mr. chairman, thank you very much. we appreciate it. lot

john: john done gonzalez abc 7 news. autria: a vigil is set for a 2-year-old killed in bowie. the grandmother suffered nonlife threatening injuries and tonight's vigil begins at 7:30 at that intersection where dynasty was struck. route 197 and old chapel road. jummy: an update for a deadly crash in montgomery county. police say the pedestrian killed on intertate 270 overnight may have been intoxicated. the man was hit by a tractor-trailer while walking in a southbound lane just after father hurley boulevard in germantown. the driver of the tractor trailer did stop. his name has not yet been released. autria: to a developing story now. 21 people were killed in a shooting attack on a museum in north africa. officials say gunmen opened fire in the national museum in tunisia and authorities say at least 17 of those killed were tourists. two of the attackers were killed in the gun fight with officials but they are now searching for two or three other gunmen they believe may still be at large. the air force veteran and airplane mechanic accused of plotting to join isil is in court t

john terrett is here with more. john, it's a major clue that raises more question. >> yeah, it does indeed raise more questions than it answers. as often is the case, because french investigators say that they have recovered audio from the cockpit voice recorder of flight 9525. the new york times reporting this evening quoting a senior military official saying that audio indicates one of the pilots actually left the cockpit and couldn't get back in. the report says he can be heard knocking on the cockpit door. and then trying to smash the door down. tonight voice recordings from the cockpit of flight 9525 are shedding new light on what happened in the minutes before the plane crashed in the french alps. >> translator: there has been some difficulty reading the data but it's great that we have found it. we have been able to extract some tpr-fgs information from it. >> the new york times reporting that one of the pilots was locked out of the cockpit before the crash. the big question is why. it may take weeks for the investigators to examine the entire crash site before a clearer picture of what happened comes in to focus. >> translator: we need to understand what happened. we must do so. we owe this to the families of the victims. >> victims that we now know include three americans, two of them a mother and daughter from virginia, yvonne and emily selke. >> we are in contact with family members and extends ore deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the 150 people on board. >> a scene that under scores the international element of the tragedy, the leaders of france, germany and spain came together in the alps to pay their respects to the citizens who died from their countries. the recovery effort is a massive operation, involving hundreds of police and emergency workers. the wreckage is scattered over an area the equivalent in size of eight football fields. and involves some pieces of metal that are so small and twisted they aren't recognizable as parts of a plane. in the small town in germany show being is giving way to grief. 16 students and two teachers from the local high school were on the flight. tears and a sea of candles flowers and tributes are filling the streets in front of the school. >> translator: everybody is disturbed. the atmosphere in the town is ghostly. >> well, antonio, if the new york times report turns out to be true, and a pilot was in fact locked out of the cock pick, that still doesn't fro free throws described any firm answers to the question what was going on inside the cockpit at the time of the crash. it does, of course, mean one of two things though, either whoever was in there didn't want the other pilot to get back in or couldn't open the door. >> all right, thank you john. >>> john is a former long-time member of the national transportation safety board. he joins us from newton, massachusetts, john, it's good to have you with us. the main question this raises is whether the pilot intentionally crashed the plane. >> that's correct. you know, let's not forget that we don't have solid evidence that this is an accurate statement. but assuming that it is accurate it doesn't shed any real new light on the possibilities that we have to explore. the investigators will treat this just like they treat all of the other evidence that they uncover. and run it to ground. i mean, run it right down until they can prove it or disproven. i think it's encouraging. >> right, assuming these reports are right. if the pilot didn't do this intentionally, could this have been a health problem? is it likely to have been that? the plane had a fairly even did descents, didn't go off course could it happen accidentally if the pilot had a heart attack and slummed over? >> there is

john gonzalez is live with what other drivers need to know. john? john: autria, good afternoon. don't freak out is a good way to put it. before you start yelling or honking at bus drivers later this afternoon, know it's all part of the plan. starting today this very busy intersection, interstate i should say here in northern virginia will look a bit different and maybe at first a little bit confusing to drivers. the virginia department of transportation is launching a pilot program inside the beltway here on i-66 trying to improve traffic time and reliability for drivers. what that means -- well, you will start seeing commuter buses on the shoulders of the highway driving right on the shoulder on the right side we understand essentially the buses will be bypassing all the heavy congestion we deal with on a daily basis. you will notice new paved shoulders and authorized buses only signs posted for potomac, rappahannock transportation and omni ride. the safe and effectiveness of this program will be evaluated, we understand in about a year. this will be similar to what has happened
