joining us now, john jordan, a former naval intelligence officer and currently an overseer at the hoover institution at stanford university. john, thanks so much for joining us this evening. i want to get to that agreement and you've had a long, deep dependency from europe, germany just for example, shut off its nuclear plants within the last decade had become even more dependent, was looking to become even more dependent on russian gas. how easily or quickly is this road going to be to cut off this dependency? will central to russian strategy with regard to the europeans is always going to be energy and there's a lot we're learning in the last day or so about russian strategy going forward with regard to europe's ability to process or substitute liquid natural gas with the four russian gas. it's kind of like that game mousetrap we all used to play in the 70s from matel. the u.s. has plenty of that liquid not liquefied natural gas to sell. but the problem is it's that the terminals you need in europe and then the pipeline infrastructure and there's almost no spare capacity for processing
