. >> john leopold. >> we wanted to update you on a asituation we saw earlier. it's a news-related story so we're going to break from the weather. first on the scene. a shooting in tolleson earlier this morning. if you saw this on 695 trying to get off on delaney valley. here's what happened. police say that it started as an armed robbery call and officers spotted the suspect's vehicle on delaney valley road. stepped out of his car but that suspect we're told tried to hilt the officer who fired his gun before getting hit. police then caught up with the suspect we're told that suspect was arrested after a very brief foot chase and then the suspect now facing armed robbery and first degree assault charges and then in the meantime that officer was taken to shock trauma, being treated for non life-threatening injuries. and the officers is expected to be okay. >> let's look at some of the more pictures you're sending in here to us. this is bobby and snow pics. but we have jeff hager. he's standing by live to tell us how the weather is. >> we're in owings mills shoppi

. >>> and right now we go to john leopold who is with us on the phone. what does it look like? >> well we have several inches of snow on the ground. we are waiting for the blizzard conditions and the strong winds at 35 mile-per-hour and more. but some ray of sunshine, we have been low on salt and we will get delivery soon of 11,000 tons of salt which will bring us up to capacity, which will be good. we have 52 people without power. i know bg & e is working hard to restore power there. we also have a situation where we have some down trees, about two dozen roads have been closed because of the down trees. one such road is route 424 at newman way in crofton. and we're helping utility employees stuck in hanover. and yesterday i visited several homes personally to hand out citations to individual citizens going over and above the call of duty to help neighbors. obviously we're doing everything we can in government to get the roads cleared, but we're also very appreciative that citizens are taking it upon themselves to help one another. and i call them snow angels and i think we're
