(big band music playing) independent films are the most important there are in the usa. they're the lifeblood of the industry. they set the new standards and the trends, and they have the wildest ideas and most interesting stories. and they're usually the best of the pictures in the country. you're not mr. purple. some other guy is mr. pule. you're mr. pink. these independent directors have their own vision and they want to create a movie that reflects their vision. that's the most important thing.
