martin's parents were not at church services this morning. john zarrella explains now. >> reporter: the message from trayvon martin's cousin was clear, direct. >> we don't want this to happen to anyone else again. there is no reason for this to happen to any other families. no one should have to go through this. >> reporter: felton and her mom and dad attended sunday services in miami gardens. miami gardens is the neighborhood where trayvon martin grew up. it is this church where his family are members. neither trayvon's mother or father came to services here sunday. not that anyone expected they would. pastor arthur jackson said he talked with sybrina this morning. >> they are very upset and heart broken, as you can imagine. the sevenless tragedy of losing a child. i applaud her. i commend her faith in god. she is still trusting god amid the trial. >> reporter: sybrina told him to tell the congregation she wants them to trust in god, as well. that message of faith was the overriding theme and it was faith trayvon's aunt says that got them through

remember, john guy said, if the races were reversed, if trayvon martin were white and george zimmermanblack and if you would convict george zimmerman under that scenario, then you must convict george zimmerman under the real life sscenario. that's why i think john guy said race is not a part of this and to the point that paul made earlier, that maybe they were afraid to go full force on race for fear of maybe making the jury uncomfortable or they were uncomfortable doing it. the jury knows that race is a part of this. i thought john guy was actually being a little subtle, probably more subtle than most -- than people are comfortable with, but subtle by making that point. you must convict george zimmerman if george zimmerman were black in this situation. >> it's interesting. the second film reference in this show. our point of reference. the core is what we see in the movies. anyway, we'll take a quick break. first, a programming note. craig melvin and lisa are hosting special coverage of the george zimmerman trial tonight. make sure to check that out. >>> dave and neil launched warby p

the idea of holding his hands out, trayvon martin easily holds his hands back in. . even john guise suggested that martin was clutching his hands. why would george make something like that as soon as it happened. >> it seems the trial is moving fairly quickly. is it faster than you expected? >> a bit faster than expected. the state maid be done tomorrow or friday. we'll start monday or friday. we'll take most of next week, it's hard to say, maybe not. there's still some decisions the court has to make about admissibility of evidence. >> how is your client feeling about how the trial is going? >> he's very worried. he's very stressed. he's glad he finally has his day in court, but this is very real to everyone. most importantly, to george zimmerman, we have the state of florida trying to suggest he killed trayvon martin in some ill will and hatred. >> because of anesthesia vid cr videos, you cannot see at this point putting george zimmerman on the stand, can you? >> i always make that decision. the first decision point is whether or not i believe the state has proven their case

john lewis? >> i supported the position of martin luther king jr.chair of the student nonviolent coordinating committee, during that time, we had already taken a position against the war in vietnam. so many of the young people in sncc, so many of the young people that we were working with all across the south were being drafted and going off to vietnam, so we came out against yet he defied them and said it the war in january 1966. but i was there at riverside church on the night of april 4th, 1967, when he spoke. and i think that speech is one of the greatest speeches. a lot of people speak about the march on washington. it was a wonderful speech. but the speech against the war in vietnam, dr. king-he said, "i'm not going to segregate my conscience. if i'm against violence at home, i'm against violence abroad." and he went on to say that america was the greatest purveyor of violence in the world. he was-he was a preacher. he was a prophet. >> do you agree with him? >> i agree with him. >> that the u.s. is the greatest purveyor of violence. >> we hav
