antivirus software entrepreneur john mccaffery has been found in a prison cell in barcelona. 0n in ay, spanish courts approved his extradition to the united states where he is wanted for tax evasion. if he was found guilty he could have faced 13 years in prison. john mcafee was a hugely controversial figure but he was also wildly successful in his lifetime. most people will remember him because of his surname, the surname that he gave to the company that he founded. it's worth remembering that back in the 80s, personal computers had just come onto the scene, and viruses were not really a thing, and it was mcafee who really realised that being able to create antivirus software and being able to market that was going to be wildly lucrative. this it was something that he bet on and he made a lot of money from that bet. mcafee became almost synonymous with antivirus software but, of course, with money came all sorts of problems for him. at one point he emigrated to belize, allegedly to avoid a litany of lawsuits and even in belize he caused controversy. at one point he fled to guatamala
