the community teachers that go above and beyond the call of duty so i want you to understand john o'connell is a school on the move and consider them and give them serious consideration but i also want to say that i live in the city and been a high school teacher and principle high schools schools are micro could say i ism of society there's weeps and violence in our society what's not being talked about you don't have metal detector at the school we have some things ten times better zoe we have a committed student body that felt comfortable went to an adult and said there's a weapon we have students it stepped forward that's the kind of community at john o'connell and ida b wells we have an incredible a lot son the incredible thing that exist in our teachers i want everyone sore to understand that john o'connell high school is a phenomenal high school that lives in a society in which there are weapons and violence ida b wells is an incredible school with criminal teachers this school district is not going to put in if tim buck too but deserves to have a building that as classrooms and buil

. >>> when students from a san francisco continuation high school move to the john o'connell high schoolome concern. now there's been an incident involving a student with a gun on campus and that concern has grown even more. leann ma len dez joins us with more. >> parents will be briefed here about an incident that occurred as john o'connell high school. now, both the district and the patients want to take a proactive approach. let me explain there are two schools here, using the same facilities students from ida b wells high school begin in january. the student with the weapon had been attending ida b. wells. on january 21st both o'connell and wells were on lockdown because of that incident. a few students told the resource officer about the gun and police detained the student for possession of a deadly weapon with the intent to assault. o'connell high has been a model school and many parents are obsessed they made the decision to put the two schools in the same building. >> they never had any problems you know. and once they moved police have been in that school every week. >> really t

they are working on training for trainers classes for the john o'connell multi-craft core program. san francisco is the main source. by craft, if you exclude the labors and operators in this particular slide, as i do, it's way above the goal of 16.67%, excluding laborers and operators. the laborers themselves continue to be a challenge for a while to get apprentices. so we continue to work with our -- which is mostly shimmick al at this point, but it's really made up by operators. there is way exceeding the goal of apprentice operators at this point that. is an overview view historical, the blue being the total and the reddish line just tracking the apprentices and how it's worked over time. our last slide is the work is load from a labor standpoint. those spikes up are 2015. so we're hitting a major workload at this point and we'll be up there for a while. then it will start trending down in 2016. so 2015 is one of our biggest years for the trades and the projects. so with that, that is my pla quarterly report. thank you. >> director harper? >> what is the problem with the laborer

we had a situation at john o'connell high school where there was a relocation or placement of an additional school on that campus and the mta was very responsive in addressing additional transportation needs with respect to bus routes and what not, and i would simply encourage you, and i am glad you're watching what is happening with the student assignment piece but it's not just the student assignment piece but also the program placement. if there are changes to programs in terms of the location of the programs they're often implications around the need to maybe change buses or add buses, so just encourage you to continue to monitor that. >> great. thank you. >> thank you. >> i have one follow up to the question earlier and the shuttle bus program. are there a lot of shuttle bus stops near the schools? do you have a sense of the number? >> i don't but i could put that together for you. >> they're very big and the drivers are above the ground and i am concerned and the elementary schools and the sight of line and the education we're doing with those drivers and actually i can't remember --
