about five, sick stories in the air roar report john o'connor owns a percussion supply people in thendustrial park next door to the seen of the five alarm blaze. >> we were two buildings away from that. just got a little bit of smoke damage. multiple explosions from compressed gas cylinders inside the building. >> reporter: black smoke consumed a nearby neighbor about 200 feet away. ashes and charred debris is still littering the yard of carmen and laura from a fire that came far too close for comfort. >> ashes floating in the backyard and a few landed on our roof. >> flames and a couple big bangs. um like pops and then few minutes later another one and then over the course of app hour four or five more of those and you can hear the crackling of the wood burning. >> reporter: they along with hundreds of other residents lost power briefly during the fire fighting efforts. also the fire snarled traffic at rush hour along the nearby pennsylvania turnpike. well it took 24 fire departments departments in this area hours to tackle this fire. meantime there were no injuries reported. in upp

. >> reporter: john o'connor works next door at a music supply business.or hours he had no idea if his business was damaged. he eventually was given the all clear. >> basically data customer files, inventory. everything. everything is on there. >> reporter: at one point about 900 peco customers were without power as electric lines were cut for safety. many concerned from seeing the smoke and wondering exactly what was burning inside that plant. >> i guess there's a little bit of concern upping, what are the materials burning, you know is that a harmful -- is this smoke? >> the fire was fueled by explosions from compressed natural gas canisters that sent firefighters scrambling. >> the danger to the firefighter firefighters there were multiple explosions an building collapse. that's why we're at a defensive operation. >> reporter: now of those 900 customers without power only 42 of them remain without service tonight. i can tell you state police fire investigators arrived on scene here a couple hours ago. they're going to try to figure out exactly what star
