john rawlins live at the scene tonight. john what is the status? >> reporter: well, detectives are still trying to sort out what happened. but he had got away and police want to find him and talk to him and find out exactly who he is. she has been talking to detectives all afternoon and evening. as they try to figure out what happened here and what triggered the 911 call and the massive police response. >> police say that a chain of events today allowed a woman to escape from an apartment inside of this building but her alleged captor slipped away. >> she came here willingly but was held here with a gun. >> a maintenance guy game in the key guy and distracted him and she was able to get her phone and able to send a message to her sister. >> that sister called 911 and police arrived at the apartment and they were able to get the victim out and the armed man stayed and s.w.a.t. was called. after more than an hour s.w.a.t. gained eptry and a small trapdoor a possible means of escape was discovered. >> there was a plumbing access we didn't know about.

and john rawlins is live now with more information. the details so gruesome john. >> reporter: hello, finding a particular red pickup truck is not an easy task. they talked to witnesses during the 5:30 rush hour period along route 100 and searching the the area for additional video to improve the odds of finding the right red pickup truck in the meantime at the victim's high school grief counselors were present and a few classmates did stop by this morning. >> student who's went to school with bianca roberson trying to make sense of the senseless crime. >> one thing to be from road rage, but reports of her being shot hit home for me it made it like 10 times worse. >> what person is like okay, i'll just shoot this person and it's fine i'll drive away. >> roberson was pronounced dead when her car went off the road and struck a tree just before the merge with 202 and west goshen and reports of road rage and a red pickup truck left the scene. and an autopsy found nothing accidental about the death she was shot in the head while driving. >>

john rawlins is live at the scene where the boy's body was found today. hn what have we learned about the victim? >> reporter: we learned that the family of the dead swimmer is inconsolable at the time. it came out of left field a good day yesterday. the swimmer was part of an impromptu end of school beginning of summer celebration and died in the water behind me. >> a medical examiners van leaving the scene. marty barshoe was found not far from where witnesses last saw the high schoolers. he was one of four teens celebrating the first day of summer going for a swim reportedly an intense storm triggered strong currents and he struggled to keep his head above the water. >> i reached out and tried to grab him. we were like this -- and the current was so strong it took him away from my hand and he was going down and going under. >> the four teens were only casually acquainted. locals that know the water were surprised that anyone would swim here. >> we passed through here as kidded but nobody would swim here as far as i know. >> it's a swampy tidal area and s

john rawlins, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. >>> we have breaking news now from the northwood section of philadelphia. chopper 6 hd -- is over the scene here in the northwoods section, reports that a person may be barricaded inside of a home here. an armed man, here is how this unfolded as we try to figure out where the situation is. this is the 1300 block. where it is unfolding. police say just before noon they received a phone call from a person that said a woman was being held against her will but an unknown man with a gun in a house there. police arrived on the scene and the woman was out of the apartment and the man is still inside and could be armed. here we see police on the scene as he they assemble in the northwood section of the city. they believe there is an armed man inside of the home here. this is just unfolding and we'll monitor the situation in the northwood section at the 1300 block of arott street. that a woman was held in the home by a man, and the woman got out and the man is still inside and possibly armed. we'll monitor this and bring you updates during t

john rawlins will have a report from the scene in our next half hour. a deadly wrong way crash in new jersey. traffic is getting by on the shoulder only in franklin township approaching route 40 here. a pickup truck was driving south in the northbound lanes when it collided with the dump truck and at least one person was killed. >>> police are still deciding whether any charges will be filed after a minivan was repossessioned and towed away with a child sleeping in the back. it happened at a west philadelphia intersection. you spoke to the tow truck driver involved in the incident. >> reporter: that is right. the tow truck driver says that the police told them he would not be charged in this case. it's unclear if his mother faces any charges for leaving her child alone in the car. this remains under investigation but police barked her car outside of this dominoes where she worked when the tow truck driver who was tracking her minivan hooked up the vehicle with her daughter many a 27-year-old mother and her daughter reunited in south philadelphia. the ch
