gorse john szczurham has been to haiti 22 times since 2010. he is part of a group of the team started their work in the early 1990s and have worked in a number of countries. for john, his experience is a much needed resource. >> and she has a really bad fracture and that is not something they have the expertise to treat down there. they don't have hand surgeon whose have done a number of these. this happens to be something i do a lot of, and i feel comfortable doing. >> reporter: and as to be expected in haiti, the doctors work under very tough conditio the o. r., so it is going to be a little bit of mcguyver, but i think we have something to a l. offer this woman -- something to offer this woman who has lost her family, lost her home, and if we can give her a functioning right arm, that is great. >> reporter: originally the team was set to return, but because things are so dire, the decision was made to make an emergency trip. they started raising money for the trip a couple of days ago hurricane victims. >> let's get them food. let's get them
