john torres. i want to start with that. what does the staff endorsement mean? i'm not familiar with that. >> what the staff endorsement means is essentially a few processes to go through here. the staff endorsement says, yes, we looked at the data we got from johnson & johnson. we like the data, we think it's safe and effective. we want to move it on to this advisory committee. the committee is meeting friday. they're moving forward and will look at it. they will look at it friday and recommend for our against emergency use authorization. once they do that, the fda looks at it, they take that advisory committee advice and they say, okay, probably on saturday time frame they're going to look and say yes or no, we're going to give it emergency use authorization. once beyond that the cdc gets ahold of it and recommend dosing, intervals, how people get it and deliver it and those things and then it starts getting shots in arms. so we think it will move very fast. fda said we endorse it. let's move to the advisory committee. they will look at fine details, the exper

john torres with some of this morning's answers. nice to see you. . >> good morning as well. i'm a chiefs fan in case you want to know. >> that was our top question. thank you, dr. torres. our second question is about the third vaccine that could be on the way. what's the difference and should you choose which vaccine you take or take the one that's available? >> kristin, the bottom line is take the one that's available. the best shot to get is the first one you can get. there are some differences between the shots. if you remember, moderna and pfizer, 94.1, 95% effective. they shohei levels of effectiveness. johnson & johnson, 72% av to re compared apples to oranges. at the end of the day all three do a great job of keeping you from getting severe covid, keeping you from getting hospitalized or dying from covid which is the bottom line for all of this. the main difference, johnson & johnson, one shot dose. it doesn't require the storage. easier to get out there and get to people. overall, any shot you can get at this point is the best shot for you t

john torres to walk us through the warning signs. dr. john, good morning to you. let's start there.e biggest things that's why we do so much testing in the emergency room. we often can't tell the difference between the heartburn, heart attack, all these different kinds of symptoms things we want to look for, chest or body pains. and by that i mean even pressure the body pain part is if something happens to your arm, if it feels weird, you get pain in the jaw the chest pressure, it feels there is a belt around my chest or an elephant on my chest i can't get the breath you're lightheaded and nauseous. you get sweaty, have the labored breathing or you're short of breath for some people, and symptoms are different for everybody, some people, they just get this overwhelming fatigue it's something that hasn't affected them before if you start noticing these, you need to get to the hospital, craig. it is extremely important. >> what struck me about it was he was so active he was a referee he was out there he felt great. should you look really, i guess, dr. torres, at your family history to

john torres today and what this means for him going forward in terms of recuperation. >> depending on what they had to do to the ankle, that's going to be the hard recovery period. he's going to get the usual post recovery from a fracture, muscle atrophy, having to learn to walk again to build up that muscle. that will take a few months. if he had to get that ankle fused or any big procedures done to that ankle, that will limit mobility, taking longer to recover and you truly might not get the ability back he had before which could impact the way he plays. >> and steve, when we talk about getting back into -- on to -- into golf and back on the range, what we just showed was back in 2019, his comeback, when he won the masters, that was so magnificent and also what he had done recently with his son, charlie, in that father/son in december with the two of them just a match pair and he was obviously so proud of his son and so involved in coaching him and taking pride in his success at the age of 11. >> yeah. the evolution, andrea, of tiger from being a great golfer and the best player of

john torres here to break down what it all means for you.full-time? >> yeah, and that's the number one question, steph. i'm told these guidelines cover a host of issues and they are focused primarily on virus mitigation. so that means calling for more comprehensive testing, social distancing, mask wearing, proper hygiene, even proper ventilation. i'm also told that these guidelines will include phased reopening instructions for schools given the caseload of the area in which the schools are located. one thing not in these guidelines, and you mentioned this, teacher vaccinations will not be included as a prerequisite for a return to in-person instruction and there are a couple of reasons for that. one, you've got millions of teachers who have been in school classrooms and have been for months, two, there's already a huge demand on the system and three, there are some thorny legal issues involved with employers, namely school districts, mandating that these teachers get this vaccine before returning to classrooms. one important thing i'm told

john torres for more on tiger's injuries, his road to recovery. i want to put up the statement again because there was a lot of detail. dr. torres, you understand this better than we do. when you say an upper fracture affecting the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones, describe what that means. i looked up that word. it does not sound good. >> you're right, savannah. it doesn't sound good, and it is not good for his recovery. it basically means that bone was broken in multiple parts. it was not just a clean fracture. he had multiple fractures. when they go in surgically, they have to repair all the pieces, piece them all back together, make sure it's stable. the open part means it has broken through the skin. the concern there, once it breaks through the skin, is there is a high degree of possibility of infection, not just to the skin but to the bone itself. that's when you can start having complications. between those two things, they had required a lot of surgery to get the bone back to where it's supposed to be and get that bo
