john williams is the number three of the fed because he's president of the new york fed. he said inflation will be over 3% by the end of the year. if it is 3% with a fund rate, it seems to be that john williams is getting ready for the dovish time to pause. four weeks from now we will get a better view of how it turned out, won't we? rishaad: kathleen hays, global economics and policy editor. let's check in with the markets. mixed bag. hong kong, just fascinating. we got it down by 2/10 of 1%. shanghai, similar margin. the nikkei has been driving higher given that it's return to growth and that of course after a technical recession. taking a look at what is happening with the dollar unchanged. we did have some moves there with the data that came out. let's look at the treasury market. what we can see there is the yuan at five month lows with a seven handle. we are looking at a 30 year treasury yield, which is declining. it is really a day after we saw yields rising across the curve there. and the policy sensitive front, the biggest mover, u.s. data reinforcing the message
