i'm talking about albert sidney johnston. if you don't know anything about albert sidney johnston and that's fine. johnson was the commander at shiloh, that the confederate commander who does not survive the battle. the reason that's important is in the inveterate hierarchy albertson and johnston outrank property lee and what i posit to you and i will debate this with any historian is that in the summer of 1862 when lee is given command of the army of northern virginia by jefferson davis on the virginia peninsula, it is highly likely that albertsoalbertso n and johnson was alive who by the way happened to be close friends with jefferson davis it's highly like way and probable that command would instead have gone to albertson and johnson and we never would have heard of robert e. lee. there is a flipside to that. at the time of johnston's death on april 6, the 1862 at 3:00 in the afternoon his army is winning the battle. they are carrying the day and what he is trying to do is get his people between grants army and the tenness

joining us from new york is david cay johnston, author of "the fine print: how big companies use plainsh to rob you blind." david, welcome back into "the war room." >> well, thank you for having me david. let's start with what you think about this in general. did they buy the post for political influence? i have heard there has been speculation that this is a great move for lobbying on behalf of amazon. you have an instrument to exploit amazon.com's personal agenda. >> while we don't know a lot about how bezos will approach this, we do know a couple of things about him. he is not part of the legacy newspaper business that is tied to the notion of printing presses and dependence on classified advertising, which has been going away rapidly. we also know that he is very focused on the long term. amazon didn't make a pinny for seven years, it made raiser thin profit margins last year, but the equity shareholders have in amazon has been exploding. it went up 55% from 2009 to 2012. that's just three years. so i suspect he sees an opportunity to make some money to show that he can change yet

let's bring david cay johnston if whoa is an expert on this and covers this area.t do you think about the charges, and are they appropriate for what you think about this case? >> they're very troubling. here's what happened. the trader in the center made a good record to protect himself. so they went after the person one step below and one step above him. but the report in the new york sometimes this morning has a very pregnant observation. it questions the upper level trader, the overseeing trader as saying that they were not to follow the rules as expected. and when the guy who isn't being charged, bruno iksil, when he said, what are you saying? that was orders of management, senior management from new york. that's the big question all along. how far did the knowledge go. if you remember when the story was leaked in 2009 it was not believable. the claim was a hedge designed to reduce risk had morphed almost magically into a safe bet. just not at all credible. the question that congress didn't ask in the hearings, well, how were the traders compensated. did they g

suspect malcolm cro crow ell 22 years old was arrested in custody about 30 to 45 minutes out of johnston, rhode island, where this whole incident developed early this morning. they did say this 2-year-old boy remained missing, 2-year-old isaiah perez. we're looking to get a photo of him to help bottom line this is about that missing child. boston globe reporting massachusetts state police officer saying they misspoke and it was a false alarm, that the suspect they did have in custody was not one related to this incident. but our sources still telling us and maintaining that this suspect was arrested about an hour ago in fall river, massachusetts. >> and, again, this suspect is also being linked to a double murder case in addition to now this alleged kidnapping. >> that's right. it was a double homicide that happened in a quiet suburb in rhode island. and it all unveiled and developed i should say about 5:30 this morning. the amber alert was issued around 8:00 a.m., but 2-year-old boy still missing. we're working on more details in flushing out these reports. >> nick valencia, thank you s
