an iowa sheriff shot his hand while he was cleaning a gun. des moines county sheriff mike johnstone sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand as he cleaned his personal handgun last night. johnstone was taken to a local emergency room for treatment, and later transferred to another facility for treatment by a surgeon who specializes in hand injuries. he's expected to be okay. chilly weather has settled in over central iowa.. at least for a few days.. it actually feels like december out there.. meteorologist brett mcintyre has details.. iowa leaders continue to deliberate over the bakken pipeline. but illinois is already signing off on it. yesterday their state commerce commission unanimously approved a permit for the pipeline. south dakota has also approved the pipeline. iowa and north dakota are the two holdouts right now. north dakota is expected to make its decision next month. there is no timeline for the iowa ulitilies board to decide if it will allow the pipeline to happen. florida senator marco rubio stressed national security today during a stop in muscatine. at kent corpor
