johnstown is reporting light snow. as this marches east it will moderate. we'll have temperatures close to 60 degrees. if we get any moisture overnight tonight it's in the form of rain. again, it's impressive to see the snow flying so late in the month of april. sunny, high pressure in control. a few high, thin clouds work into the region late as the area of low pressure approaches from the southwest. the bulk of the moisture will actually stay to the south. it will move across the virginia capes and the carolinas. we'll be brushed by this. there could showers after midnight tonight around the mason dixon line, delaware, extreme southern portions of cape may and cumberland counties. tomorrow morning brief showers early, otherwise it's clouds breaking for sunshine. clear conditions, early, high thin clouds roll in later on this afternoon. overnight tonight we cloud up. everybody going mostly cloudy. there could showers in this part of the viewing area very late tonight into tomorrow morning. these clouds give way to sunshine during the course of the day. sun

flying across western pennsylvania this morning, how would you like to be out in state college or johnstownh where you have a light coating on grassy surfaces. rain showers across the virginias and the carolinas. more rain to the west. you can see the counter clockwise swirl an upper level feature south of omaha. that will swing through monday afternoon. neither of these will bring too much moisture to the area and it will stay south of the city. if you live in south jersey and delaware, don't be surprised if you wake up to wet roads in the form of showers that's about it. 60 degrees a light breeze out of the southeast. first thing tomorrow morning we're down in the 40s these numbers will be milder than where we are this morning. millville, 49 degrees. we'll start out with sun increase with high clouds during the day. you saw the showers after midnight tonight, south jersey and delaware, be on the look out for showers it could linger into the first part of tomorrow morning, otherwise it's clouds and sunshine. and sunday promises to be a nice day, as well. overall looks like a quiet weekend

i bought it when we first decided i was going to write a book about the johnstown flood. i have been writing articles for a living. magazines, mainly. for about 15 years. but i had never undertaken a book. since i went to work for time life we were issued a standard typewriter. so i thought i'd better get one of those. because i cannot just write this on my college portable. i bought it in 1965. $50. it was 25 years old, secondhand. and i have written everything i published since on that typewriter. [laughter] and there is nothing wrong with it. [laughter] it was built before the notion of planned obsolescence. it was built to last. i had to put new ribbons in and get it cleaned once in a while. knock on wood we intend to keep going, me and my typewriter.
