jon: lucas, thanks.ning us now, "washington examiner" political reporter and "new york post" columnist selena zito. what do you think is the big takeaway that's going to come from the vote? >> i think the big takeaway is which party or candidates have done the best job listening to what voters are most concerned about. and to date, the republicans have done a better job of talking about inflation, talking about crime. huge concerns for voters. but also talking about the border, which voters see as something that's impact their suburbs, their towns, their small towns through a fentanyl surge into those places, and also parental rights. the democrats' challenge has been they have been in power so they sort of walk around the things that voters are concerned about. but they are not addressing it head on in a meaningful way. voters feel disenchanted with the party, and unhappy with the democrat party. jon: you took an interesting trip toll bragg, pennsylvania, that's the tiewnl where john fetterman was mayor

jon: looking forward to that.n terms of individual stock performers today, certainly the technology group has been lagging. within that group, some commentary on semiconductors off about 7% right now. a somewhat mixed outlook. that was the market reaction. we just got that update the ap report about a possible windfall tax on energy producers. there has been so much for the energy investor to digest on this monday, including the price of oil itself. we have seen some choppy trading in the names like phillips 66. it is one of the names we will be watching on earnings front this week. another company acquiring 6%. to the downside, barclays with a bearish view. that stock off in the neighborhood of 7%. scarlet: we will talk more about earnings and what it means for specific equities. as we look toward wednesday's fed decision, it really had us wondering if fed chairman jay powell or a track and field athlete, what event what he compete in? according to a survey, he would be running a very long race. >> is jay powell

jon: the timing is interesting. kriti: bridgewater's track record, they are putting up some better numbers. talk about the timing of this analysis. >> this was baked in the cake in the early part of the year when it water its board to everybody and talk about changes in governance. what is a surprise as ray is giving up control and at a time that makes clients feel better. to your point, bridgewater's pure alpha strategy which is its flagship, find if you will, actually represented in more than a single fund. the strategy is up 35% year to date. that really helps to reverse some of bridgewater's awful performance in the pandemic when pure alpha lost 13% in 2020. meantime, arrival such as alan howard or chris roco's were having record years. it was a bitter pill to swallow for a bridgewater. this is a from that prides itself on recruiting and cultivating the best people. you know all about radical transparency and truthfulness and the idea of meritocracy, all of those things about bridgewater are supposed to make it
