(ella)since friday 6 boats have already been towed by sausalito police. it's part of a crackdown to uphold a 72 hour rule and right now they're in phase three of the project targeting unoccupied vessles left floating in the water. a boat cannot be anchored in city water for more than 72 hours according to a sausalito ordinance.on monday police posted notices warning the owners of 61 vessles in violation of the rulepolice say the illegally anchored boats are neglected and in danger of falling apart and causing environmental problems. plus boat owners parked at a nearby harbor say they've noticed waste isn't being safely disposed of.the
